Do i need to use a local broker or can i use one anywhere in the UK?0
-
This is strange and I am very interested in the reason, as there will always be one.
My understanding is that Nationwide do not marker a bankruptcy account, past when it is discharged.
I would be tempted to send an SAR to Nationwide for the accounts, google it and you will get a standard letter easy enough.
May give you a 40 day wait, but will tell you why Nationwide are auto declining your credit lines.
Have you applied for any non-Nationwide off the shelf HP or credit recently and what was the outcome?
You can engage a broker anywhere in the country. If not local you will be expected to provide additional ID if not meeting face to face.
Sometimes it is easier/better to meet a new broker face to face to build the relationship, sometimes it is more important to find the right broker for your situation and sacrifice the face to face.
Interesting how this pans out and what the ongoing issue is that keeps causing the auto-decline...

All the bestYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
I know this isn't accurate, but it might be worth a try.
It seems the last time you applied to Nationwide for any non mortgage product was a number of years ago.
It's believed , by some on this board that applying for a nationwide credit card, you can get a "quote". This results in a soft credit search which does not affect your credit score. People believe that if you get a quote of 19.9% there is a chance you may not be accepted if you went with the full application. However, a quote below 19.9% tends to imply you may be accepted for a full application.
If you get a quote below 19.9% it may imply Nationwide may automatically accept you.
For the record though , they quoted me 19.9% last Friday. However, when applying for a current account on line I was accepted instantly, and preapproved for a credit card at 15.9%.
I think you need to try and understand if Nationwide are still automatically rejecting you on credit scoring purposes (which may no longer be the case) of if your being rejected as part of Mortgage lending criteria (i.e. bankruptcy etc).0 -

I Previously applied for a Bank Of Scotland credit card and was accepted, That was well over a year back now though. Not a very good intrest rate though, In the low to mid 20's lol.
My nationwide card is 19.9%, This is the lowest that i have ever had, And it is still high lol.0 -

I've got lots of credit card and loan quotes on my report because i thought they would not show these to lenders but apparently they do show up to lenders. In the notes section of the insurance quotes it says that "insurance quotes are not shared with other lenders for credit decisions", But i have no notes on the credit card and loan quotations. It was done online when i logged into my account, I didn't apply for them but i got lots of quotations. There's 9 of them all through 2012 ! lol0 -
They don't effect any credit scores . I have lots !
The insurance ones will be from a comparison site. They will do it periodically , likely when your insurance is up for renewal. Check the small print of any comparison sites you used .0 -
