No point in banging your head against that wall. If you say who you had debt with cancelled by your bankruptcy, someone might know if they have been absorbed by NW, which may be why you have problems.

I can't remember because it was nearly 8 years ago, I had 11+ creditcards though, And a loan with Barclays. The only ones i can 100% rememeber are:

Barclays, Royal Bank Of Scotland, Capital One, Marbles, RBS ADVANTA, Aliance & Leicester. MBNA, Granite (Vanquis), Goldfish.

I never had a nationwide account until after i was made bankrupt, Whilst bankruptcy they were the only bank to accept me for a standard cashcard account so i could pay wages in. Then when i became discharged it seemed like everything stayed the same as when i was bankrupt. I waited years until i applied for a debitcard account and was still declined. Then i appealed it and was accepted for the debitcard account. Since then it's been the same on all applications lol

Ah! Your problem is only with NW? Having taken you on as a recent BR, you are flagged as such in their systems and will be refused on automated decisions for ever - and having to rely on manual appeals.

If you are going to let the current house go, I suggest you think about another bank - clear your loan from savings and find somewhere else for your savings which will be a good prospect for a mortgage. But before you go through with this, perhaps you need a formal chat with NW just to ask about the cycle of automated refusals and success on appeal and ask about your longer term prospects for a mortgage.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

    That's incorrect.

you haven't burst my bubble. I know they use their own in house system, hence why i'm screwed. But they also use experian and equifax too, I have yet to find a lender that uses callcredit though so maybe that CSA should just disapear lol.

How ironic... the only bank i'm interested in IS credit checked by callcredit lol... skipton building society! Just found that out!

Call Credit used to be owned by Skipton BS. Kensington is also a Call Credit lender IIRC.

I think you're missing the key elements here, I was with nationwide during my bankruptcy so i'm on their system, You were not. they have no record of your bankruptcy as you've only just applied for the account.

I'm going to see what NW say on the appeal as i need this house really, It's less then half the price of all the others around this area, so i can afford it. If they decline me then i'm thinking of going to Skipton Building Society. If i do move banks then i'll carry on paying the NW loan off monthly as it gives good CRA scoring (i want this as i may need to take out a personal loan at some point in my life, you never know) and also i want to keep my savings in a high interest savings account at SBS rather then use it to pay the loan off, if they have one.

TBH i've never been filled with confidence with NW customer service, it's generally been way below par, I 've even had numerous complaints that have been resolved by them paying me compensation because they keep mesing things up. lol

You might think so. But my feeling is that this is a data systems issue within NW. I suspect that once you are on NW's system as a recent BR, a 'recent BR' flag stays set and is never re-evaluated according to the passage of time - in other words, they probably don't record the date of the BR and have no regard for the passage of time and the conduct of accounts.

I suspect you do not have the same critical flag set on your details as farside has

I was with NW from the day after declaring BR.
