Stanstead Airport

Hello all,

Just been surprised by my wife. We are off to Krakow for my 30th on the 10th of March.

So just looking at airport parking and wonder if anyone has any discount codes or anything for parking at the airport. We have an early flight so I don't really want to bother/risk doing a park at my drive.

The best price I have found is via moneysupermaket and its the mid stay and its only 5 mins from the airport. For £41.00

We will be parking early on sunday 10th about 3am and leaving about 23:30 on Wed 13th

So anything cheaper than £41?

I have seen there is the longstay for £36 but thats a bit further from the airport but would prefer to be nearer.

Holiday extras are offering 15% cashback for the same car park/price through Top Cashback.

In our experience of 40+ Stansted flights in recent years, I'd say forget the Mid-stay and use the on-airport Long-stay . We always do, the transfers are fast and frequent (faster than the advertised 8-10 mins from the terminal). We never get a cheaper deal than directly booking with BAA's own site (which shows the same prices as those above).

The problem with the Mid -stay (an advertised 5-6 mins away) is that in our experience, and although it says on the BAA website that transfers are every 10 mins, in practice, its served by no more frequent transfers than the Long-stay (15 minutes frequency) so the fact that the long stay transfer takes a couple more minutes more to the terminal is completely insignificant. If you've left it so late that 4-5 minutes matters you'll risk missing the flight!

We didn't know about the cashback offer above, but thanks Tripled; we'll try that next time. The reason I'm loyal to BAA is that they are really efficient. If you pay a few quid more for the cancellable booking (as opposed to their 'supersaver'), they refund without hassle if you change your plans (not that you will!) So why should they pay an intermediary's fees to Moneysupermarket when their directly booked product is really cheap if you book a couple of weeks ahead?

Have a great trip- and happy anniversary (but dress warm!)
  • Through the skypark link from the cheap airport parking article (click here) you can have meet and greet parking for £30.45, meaning you don't have to do transfers at all, you'll be met at the airport by a uniformed driver.
  • Hi, just to confirm, we have used the drop off at door service for our last few flights. It's brilliant if you have an early morning flight, as nothing worse than getting there at 4.30 am and having to get on a bus. It was the cheapest option for us too. We booked though Topcashback - Park and Go, but do compare them all to make sure.

We're off to warsaw next month, only 2 days and the Long stay worked out cheapest for that one, so it changes all the time. Booked with Holiday Extras on Top Cashback.

A differing opinion to one of the above posters.

The Midstay is usually only a couple of pounds more than the longstay and despite what other poster says, is way closer to the terminal and IMO worth parking there

wether you can get it cheaper or not I cant help sorry

Thanks for all your posts guys :)

Its not long to go now, I am looking forward to it :D

Michele-p I have been to Warsaw a number of times are really like it.

I don't know if you have ever been before but one place I can suggest if you like history is The uprising museum. Very well done, English everywhere and there is an amazing video that you can do (which you really should) called a city in ruins and its a computer recreation of what Warsaw looked like from the air after WW2.

I just got back from Krakow a few weeks ago. I'm guessing you're getting the 6am'ish flight like I did with Ryanair?

I parked in the long stay car park. Easy to get to, cheaper and there was a bus waiting (in fact, there was 2). Got on and was at the airport terminal within 5/10 mins. Very easy.

I stayed in Krakow for 4 days and did the Auschwitz and Salt Mine tour, as well as visited Schlinder's Factory.

The square is beautiful. We rented an apartment a few minutes from the square from Old City Apartments. Cheap, and they picked us up from the airport and dropped us off.

    Have a great time. :)

Yes we are getting the 6am flight. Planning on getting to the airport parking about 4am ish. Was it really busy in the terminal for bag drop and security?

We have been to Krakow once before and we are really looking forward to going back there.

I don't think it will be as warm as when we went last May ;)
