Paying rent late on Standing order?

  • Ours is set to leave a couple of days earlier to work around weekends but I think if you pay regularly each month and on time the LL will not panic too much about 24 hours, And as G_M already said by the time they realise it will have been paid anyway.

I think very few LLs sit and wait by their computers to check the money goes in at exactly the specified time. Even then there is a whole 24 hours in a day so would be pretty sad!

We pay our rent at least five days early to ensure that it's always with our LA on time. The only exception to this is over Christmas, when we tend to pay it a little earlier, mainly because our rent is due on the 29th and there's so many non-working days over that period.
  • I have never been concerned by this as I know that tenants pay by SO and it will be late if the date falls over the weekend. It would not be an issue for me unless the tenant was later than this with payment.
