Vokera boiler compact29

Hope someone can give me some advice.
I bought a house which has a brand new boiler installed (the old boiler and box from the new one were still in the house).
Had to get the gas engineer out to check everything was OK before turning the boiler on, and he got it up and running.
Now around 10 weeks later, the boiler is now showing the red alarm light, and will not give me any hot water or heating. I have tried to reset it with no luck.
I phoned vokera who told me the boiler has not been registered with them but they can do that and would need to make a guess as to when it was installed.
If I register, how soon can I get an engineer out to look at the boiler, as there does seem to be a fault somewhere, (but what do I know ??).
Whats your best advice in what I do next. Thanks

Do you have a Building Compliance certificate for the boiler (if you live in England or Wales)? Your solicitor should have asked for this during the conveyancing. Advice available here.0 -
Don't believe I have a cetificate.
House bought at auction and in Scotland.Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -
Warranties are not necessarily transferrable to a new owner, nor do you have any comeback with your vendor after the event-how do you even know if it was 'brand new'?
If it's not warantied/registered and the Benchmark paperwork available, just get a local independent RGI out, you don't need to call the manufacturer. You can't get it warrantied and then necessarily expect a pre-existing fault to be fixed for free.No free lunch, and no free laptop

That info changes things significantly eg. no mandatory requirement to register boiler installations in Scotland (and N.I.)
Do you still have the box for the 'new' boiler? The bar code sticker on the box contains the boiler's serial number which Vokera can use to determine date of manufacture. Alternatively, look on the boiler's data plate. This model has 2 years parts & labour as standard.0 -
what does the pressure gauge show ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Don't have the box anymore, threw that out but before we did, we cut out the bar code sticker on the box with the serial no, model data etc, so we do have the serial no.
When the engneer came to check the boiler over and get it started, he also stated that it was a brand new boiler - but we knew that. The house was also advertised as having a brand new boiler installed and according to the neighbours (who were flooded out by the old boiler) that the owner got a new boiler installed before selling.
I am no engineer but just by looking at it and all the other info - I do not doubt for a minute it is not new.Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -

Pressure gauge is just below 2. I have a feeling, and (hope) that I am just not resetting it correctly, but can't quite figure out what I am doing/not doing right/wrong.Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -

System is over pressurised, at 2 bar the expansion will not take the additional pressure as the water heats and the system will lock out on high pressure, could also cause other problems such as blowing safety valves which will possibly then leak!
You need to reduce the pressure to1 bar, bleed some water off from a radiator to do this whilst checking the pressure at the boiler gauge!
Its winter folks, get the system going, then argiue the toss over registration?Signature removed0 -

Definitely register the warranty as Vokera have already told you they can if you can give them an installation date. Vokera will be able verify date of manufacture and then you can guesstimate.
Keep in mind the problems could be the result of an installation fault rather than a problem with the boiler itself.
In the interim consult the boiler manual for fault finding advice.0
