Debt at highest was about 19k.
Took longer than it should have to pay off as it took me a while to have a real LBM.
19 k is a lot, Lou. I'm going to get there too!!* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

No spend day today! Lunch ready in the fridge for tomorrow, too. Feeling super-organised.
I've done a trial run of a long day today, from 7.44 am to 7.00pm, to see what it's going to be like when my compressed hours working starts. Had the normal dip at 3 pm, but was absolutely fine between 5.30 and 7, it was even better than normal, as it was really quiet and I could get lots done. Also banked some time for the start of September. Then I'll always have a bit of flexibility while I adjust.
No sight of lodger yet! All her furniture etc is here though. Hope she's ok. I think her other contract expires tomorrow, so she'll definitely be here then. Looking forward to getting the rent, and to payday on 28th!! Just in time for Bank Hols.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

No wonder it was NSD, you were at work a loooonnnng time today! Blimey, I couldn't do thatBut great you've had a trial run and that is was productive
Sounds like a great plan to me. Wish they had flexi time where I worked, although saying that I'd probably never accrue any :rotfl: I'm out of that door on the dot!!
If you never hear from your new lodger again, you could sell her furniture. I'm sure after so long you'd actually own it!:rotfl:
Ooh a date.Are you excited?

He he Ena, you're not wrong re NSD. Maybe I should just stay at work until Christmas, sleep under my desk and never go out, the debt would be paid off!
Well, another NSD today but not for much longer, as I am off to meet my friend and her new bf for dinner. Going to give him a good grilling.:rotfl:
So not really an NSD then....
But took lunch in , and sat reading my book at lunchtime. No popping out to mooch around the M&S knickers sale
In other news, lodger finally moving in today! Yay!
Have a good evening everyone.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

Haha if you sleep under your desk, think of what you could rent your room out for?! :rotfl:
Ah poor guy, hope he survives the grilling

:rotfl:Ha! I could soooo rent the room out and lower my expenditure!
you have set the cogs into motion now, Ena!! :rotfl:
Well, so the new lodger has moved in but I didn't see her last night as I was out for a meal with my friend, grilling her new boyfriend
Looking forward to us all having a chat today, but not looking forward to having to set the rules. And I do have to set the rules, so that the cleaning gets done and there is no resentment or disagreements.
I ordered a couple of books for my course which I'm due to start in September. Also about to start applying for my conversion course next year. When the debt is gone! I have found that being in debt / having little money certainly takes away your options. So this is a brilliant way of taking control and remedying that.
Let's keep plodding! (Lou would agree!)
Re date. I think I'm looking forward to it more than before. I think I'm finding it hard to get back to dating, but my heart is ready now I feel. I'm just not looking forward to the mutual interviewing!
My date has kindly offered to drive over to my side of town, which I have really appreciated and seems like the caring kind. But our contact has been limited, as I don't want to get into texting lots. He isn't non-committal or elusive, which many men are, and which I do to think is a good sign, so I would normally not be interested. He's had interesting things to say, too. I'll report back on Sunday on that.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

Haha I want a conservatory and I've considered moving into it and renting my room out. It would totally pay my mortgage plus more but I'm not sure I'd be that warm
Rules are good, hope no-one breaks them!!! I'm sure things will be fine
I feel the same, being in debt reduces your options, unless you don't care about your debt and are getting in deeper and therefore will do stuff regardless. We'll get there, we've had our LBM's!Not long till your course starts :T
Your date sounds like he's got potential. Hope you have a great time.Looking forward to hearing all about it

He he! Our situations require radical measures!i was eyeing up the garden shed! :rotfl:
I am so excited about my course. I think it's the focus I need, and hopefully fufilment will follow.
I am having a good girl lunchtime, finishing off my tom salad with a small tin of tuna that I picked up in Aldi. Just the right size!
I also love the microwaveable salmon fillets in Thai marinade from there. So easy! Makes cheap and nutritious lunch.
Still not seen lodger! Maybe she has liquidity issues??I'm sure it will be ok!

Saturday morning.
Good things that happened money wise:
- I've had the rent from the new lodger
- I've had £125 from m&s bank for opening an account with them a few months ago.
- I went out last night and only spent £5.20 on two drinks. (!!)
Good things that happened other than money:
- I went out and had a good and deep chat with a new person about fulfilment etc. so interesting to find out other people's perspectives
- I have got a hair appointment today and going to go off earlier and have a wander around the shops, as my hair will take at least 3 hours of sitting in a chair!
- it's the weekend! I have the house to myself today, as both lodgers away
- my new lodger seems to be a lovely girl
- I have got into a good book
- I don't have to get up and drive to work!
- I made up 8 hours flexi time last week!
- I am going to skype with a good friend and make plans for next weekend in London. Exciting stuff!
So, money wise, this week I am going to pay off my HSBC credit card with the rent money. This should bring down my total debt by about £500. We shall have to see what the total looks then! In about 2 weeks time I should be able to add £400 to the pay off when my other lodger pays her rent. I so badly want to see the numbers go down!* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here
