As the name says I owe too much

Thought about all of that, nothing to sell, a lot of my money went on paying off bills, food shopping and the odd weekend away. Just too much for me at the moment, hubby being really great, telling me it is not the end of the world, nobody has died, and to not think too much about it until after I have spoken with CCCS.
Just feel so bleak at the moment and am crying at the drop of a hat, cant settle to doing anything not even housework. Cant eat which is very unusual for me, food is sticking in my throat, living off fags and water at the moment.Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 880 -
Thats exactly it. It is only money. It's really not the be all and end all. You have to learn to make your money work for you. Taking control is half the key.0

owetoomuch,
You've had some excellent advice on here and the only thing I could add is that it may be worth contacting your payroll department and asking them if they'll suspend your salary payment because you're currently having problems with your existing bank account. You could also consider asking them to pay your salary into your O.H's account or one of your children's accounts.
We opened a basic account with Nationwide, as a pair of bankrupts, and there was no problem at all, they opened the account on line and we walked out of the branch with the account number and sort code. Try to start convincing yourself that you will get out of this mess; life is short enough without wasting part of it worrying about something that you'll ultimately resolve.

Cant get money paid into husbands account just yet as we shared a first reserve account with Nat West (Basic Bank Account) he has contacted the Co-Operative bank to set up an account and they will be getting back to him very soon, he gets paid on the 21st so this needs to happen soon so his salary doesn't go into Nat West either.
Opened an account with A&L last night on their web site and they have accepted me, they said it would take 3 days to get paperwork out to me so I hope this is true, can wages departments hold your salary and then pay when account is sorted?Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 880 -

Hi owetoomuch,
It's worth a try, I work for a large organisation who are very bureaucratic with fixed deadlines for everything but they were able to change my bank details almost at the last minute and would have held payment if I'd asked. I had my salary paid into our teenage daughter's account, big mistake; it was like trying to get blood out of a stone, and I never got it all back

I know you said you didnt want to stop smoking, but have you tried switching to roll ups? That might save you a lot of money.
Hope everything is looking a bit rosier for you!Debt Free - done

Thank you all for your kind support.
I spoke with CCCS today and have an appointment with them on Monday, they have given me guidance on how to stop Nat West claiming all my salary. I have to send a First Right of Appropriation letter to them before I get paid, this will stop them using all my money against their debt, I have to list my DDs for council tax and the like and some cash and they cannot touch it.
CCCS were so lovely and when I said I got their information from people on here they couldn't be more helpful. Sobbed the whole time I was on the phone but they were great. They kept on telling me that I should be proud that I have started the process and if any of my creditors give me any hassle I am to hang up and let CCCS know straight away.
Load off my mind, I might be able to sleep and eat now.

Update - Made first phone call to Capitan One today, were quite nice but wouldn't freeze interest, sending letter exercising my 'first right of appropriation' to my bank today, apparently they have to pay my direct debits out of my salary and cannot claim all the funds for their debts, load off my mind. Just have to get OH account sorted out before he gets paid in 12 days otherwise we are stuffed.Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 880

Further update - As you may recall in my earlier posting when I rang Nat West for help with this (main creditor and my bank account holder), they told me the only thing they could do was give me a loan to pay off their loan and overdraft and took some details from me. Tonight I get a letter in the post from Nat West with a loan agreement to do just that - can I just ignore the letter and not sign it, because I think they need me to sign it before they can action? I do not want a loan from them and definitely not one that will just cover them and not all my debts, I have my appointment with CCCS on Monday afternoon (first available time and date they could give me),but they have been very helpful over the phone with any queries I have raised with them.Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 880
