my next car??
Options
I am planning now for my next car and always fancied an ST3 2008/9 Focus. However now i am wondering if a better option would be a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro, either the 2 turbo or the 3.2 v6
Both are looking at similar money, around 10k so in the thoughts of the masses which would give me the biggest smile?
I am not worried about MPG etc as do less than 5000 miles per year, its the smile when I get up thinking i have to drive to work that i am after :j

Go test drive both and decide for yourself which one you would prefer.0

As well as test driving one or two, think of the smile/feeling of satisfaction when you park it, or are looking for it in a car park. At the end of the day, a Ford is a Ford is a Ford. Nothing wrong with that, but an Audi has that "German engineering" feel of quality, and is easier to find!

other thing to consider, think of the disappointment when some !!!! has keyed it just because it's a nice motor... I'd get the ford, less bell ends seem to drive ford than audi...0

Driver's car... this is a rare 'S' version which is tuned by Pro-Drive. Bit over budget but worth every penny.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Check the rear screen heater works when you have to give it a push....0 -

I've owned "prestige" german cars in the past, over rated and over priced in my opinion.0

You had problems with yours then did you??
It was a 156 (and not the exact car mentioned). The company gave it to me whilst my Passat was off the road (they forgot to renew the tax).
Yeah it is fair to say i had issues with it.
I had the Passat for 4 years it never broke down.
I had the 156 for a total of 11 days, i had to push it 3 times because the electrics were a sack of....
I will say when it worked it was a lovely car to "push on" with.
If we generalise citroens and peugeots i feel i'm qualified to generalise alfas
Of the two mentioned, heart says audi, head says get the ford.0 -
I'd buy a decent and I mean decent E46 M3, it would discipline either of the other 2.
The focus is a bit knuckle dragger in image (although I have a sickness for the sound of a 5 pot) and it's more of a driver's car than the Audi.
As it sounds more like a fun car you want, why not venture into older territory, without losing out on the performance?
Something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-RS2-/150966023793?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item232646b671&_uhb=1
Practical, will pull your face off, but will also never lose money and will probably gain in value nicely over a few years. It'll never be worth mega money as the !!!!! types/ collectors want low mileage specimens, but I'd sooner be tooling around in one of those than the Focus or the A4.0
