Why does it take some companies so long to send prizes?

Ok, I won a prize, was notified on the 14th feb, and got a letter, just had some contact with the person who sent the WEM, and they said oh the people who will send it will be in touch today or tomorrow, they have just phoned and said I'm sorting it today the items should be in stock, you should get it by the end of next week??? Why the end of next week if your sorting it today?? Sorry to moan, am very excited about the prize....lol

I cant answer that but its now the 21st Feb 2013 and I am still waiting on a prize I won in early Dec 2012.
Have emailed and asked about it and was told mid Feb would be with me.
am not making a fuss til I have done my Jury Duty starting next week, then I may get mad if I still don’t have it by mid March.

they take as long as they take and its usually worth the wait.:)

I think the problem is sometimes that there can be several different Companies with several different departments involved in these competitions. It only wants one person in that chain to be 'Out of the office' or drag their feet and everything comes to a grinding halt.

I got a prize delivered 16th February, very much wanted & gratefully received, but I won it on 19th October 2012! Weeks & weeks of we're chasing it up or it's been sent! If you won it last week you may need to be patient xx

If I was notified on 14th Feb I wouldn't consider a prize "late" before the end of March (unless it was something for an event before then like tickets etc)

Ah don't get me wrong It's a quick turn around, just so excited about it, and the fact the chap who is sending the prize said he was sorting it today, just wondered why he said it will be with you by the end of next week, ..... why not tomorrow or Monday....lol Just can't wait!

yes, I just got a prize this week that I won in October! Been chasing and chasing but eventually got it in the end! If it had been very small I wouldn't have bothered but it was a biggie!

Woman's Own claimed it would be with me by 4th November, give it 28 days then start nagging, they get there eventually xx

Yes, I always give them 28 days before I start pestering. I don't mind if they email me back with a explanation - I just get annoyed when they don't get back to me - it is as if they think you are the least of their worries because you won something from them for free!

We had a parcel a few days before Christmas 2011 for a competition win - that ended the beginning of July :eek:

The iPhone I won back in May I had to wait almost 5 weeks for - but that did have a lot of prize winners.

Other things normally take about a week (if I get notified) - but as others said, I leave it 28 days before asking where something is!

I started back comping a few weeks ago, after a prize turned up out of the blue around then, tracked it down and it ended in May last year!!...lol
