Mary went home yesterday afternoon; the bungalow now seems hollow and empty without the little lass.:(

The newspaper "carpet" has been taken up, and I'm now trying to catch up with the tasks that got either left or only cursorily done, as Mary requires a large investment of time and energy.

    If anyone's interested, here's Mary.

    Hi.

Glad you enjoyed your visit Lindsay. Try to come again before the hordes of holidaymakers choke up all the roads. We always allow at least another 20 minutes on our journeys in the summer.

Not a lot going on here today. Planned a morning slaving over a hot computer but an elderly lady called to see the Rev, who was out. She lost her husband last week and I think she just needed to talk so it was coffee and biscuits and a listening ear until she felt ready to face the world again.

LW: sorry that you are missing Mary but I'm sure it won't be long until you get another visitor.

Happy Birthday Julie. Now if you were Hester you wouldn't be bothering with underwear. Anyway, enjoy your presents and hope you are spoiled for the rest of the day.

    Back to magazine writing.

    :bdaycake:Happy birthday Julie! I don't know how I got to 46 either!
Sunny but cold here today, went for an hour long march about in the park this morning, we used to take the kids there every sunday I was off, there are nature trails and a waterfall, stood and watched that for a while in contemplation but was getting some odd looks as I think I was the only person around without a dog or a pram! Popped in to the MIL's on the way back, and got the scales thrust at me with a cry of you've lost a lot of weight, don't know how you would tell, am still the size of a small African nation! Only me in for dinner tonight, so left her house and went to shopping centre, thinking I would get something in mr ts for dinner, but ended up in Debenhams getting my eyebrows waxed at the benefit brow bar, they were like caterpillars!
So now I have dived in the freezer and found something resembling meatballs, that will do. DS has just returned from the docs, they took blood tests last week to check for early arthritis as he has had shoulder and back pain for months and most of us have arthritis in the family, results were fine so shes sent him home with a box of brufen:eek:, won't be taking them as he has bad asthma and most of us are sensitive to anti-inflam's, grrr, locum docs! She has apparently referred him to the hospital, might have been easier to send him for an xray first, but hey-ho!
Right, off to defrost dinner! Enjoy the rest of the day all!
    RIP Iain

  • Hi All
Terrible week here, friend over from Australia, had to make the decision to turn off her brothers life support, he was 37...Funeral was today and she flys home again fri afternoon...as far as funerals go the banter was good, he's Rangers daft and his Fiancee is Celtic it was mentioned in the Sermon so it gave many folk a chuckle...its been a rollercoaster of emotions here at mine and with the family
Anyway all done now but lest we forget xx:A

Tina, hugs to you and your friend.

LW - Mary is so sweet, bet you're missing her now.

    Evening All

Work then hospice today, had a phone call from EA, we have a viewer for Monday - cue cleaning and tidying at the weekend!

Not much else happening, weather been cold but dry, washing reasonably up to date especially as it has been almost dried outside this week.

Off to pick friend up from the airport at 10 this evening, wish it was a little earlier, I may fall asleep before then.

Nearly the weekend, take care. XX

    Good evening,

Thank you all so much for the lovely birthday wishes. I've had a nice day and lots of lovely pressies, I'm a very luck girl.
I was thinking more of serviceable knickers but I may treat dh to something special:rotfl:
The market research was good fun and I'm £55 better off than I was this morning.
Dh has cooked me a lovely birthday tea. Just about to treat myself to cheesecake and cream
Have a good evening Julie x
