O/S Daily Thursday 21st February 2013

O/S Thursday21st 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

    Morning all:j:j

    Chilly here again this morning:j:j

Well after a busy animal day yesterday. The Girls were worn out last night. They were both asleep within 10 minuets of getting into bed.

Today, We have some craft stuff at home to planned for them and if its warm enough we shall take a walk and a quick play over the park,
They have there Dance lesson last this afternoon. Something which we had forgot about about still being on during half team. If it was not for the dance lesson then we would have taken them out again today. but as we have to pay for there lessons upfront and they are not cheep. We wont them to go.

We don't have any meal plans for today as yet. Will have to take that as it comes.

Well I hope that everyone has been having a good half team.

Enjoy your day everyone, What ever you are getting up to.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dry, cloudy, breezy, chilly but no frost here this morning.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was pork chops (from the butcher at the farm shop - and very nice they were too, although not huge), roast pots, carrots, swede, broccolli, cauli, LO cauli/brocc cheese, LO yorkshires and gravy - was a real mix of different vegs - not everyone had every veg etc but all lovely - washed down with a bottle of chilled chardonnay for me and DH as my friend gave it to me as a gift for helping her out the other week, I told her she didn't need to, but that day she was in such a state I finished up spending all day with her to make sure she was ok and giving her some lunch to ensure she had something to eat and drink. Dinner tonight is beef stew and dumplings, remembered to defrost the meat last night - so have not visited the SM since last Friday but have now run out of meat for pack-ups, and veg, and don't really have anything I can use instead - so will have to go today - hoping spend will just be for pack up meat and veg, shouldn't be more than £5 I'm hoping!

Work yesterday was quite quiet, but I'm now on days off and then annual leave next week - will use today to start the list of chores I want to get done, but I have a dentist app first thing. Put a line of washing out yesterday although it didn't get completely dry it was dry enough to fold ready for ironing then to spend a couple of days in my cupboard where the boiler is just to air. Have another basket load ready to go out this morning - want to start getting back into the habit of using the washing line not the TD as it's now getting to the time of year where we should be able to get washing dry on the line.

Tonight I will need to do some pc work for DH as he has a meeting on Saturday - will also spend some time sorting paperwork etc.

    Keep safe and well x

    Good morning,

Well it looks like a nice day which makes a change for me. It's my birthday and its normally snowing! Have no idea how I got to be 46!

It's abit of a tradition in our house for me and dh to spend the day together but he's got to work and I have a market research, needs must. But I am doing it with my cousin who happens to be my best friend so should be a nice day.
Dh and I will celebrate on Saturday instead. Have had some nice pressies including flowers and The hairy dieters cookbook, a new journal and nightie. Plus some money which I will spend on underwear how exciting is my life:rotfl:
Anyway have a nice day whatever your up to Julie x

Good Morning chums,I have today and tomorrow off from my DGS as their Dad is at home for a couple of days so I thought today I will just pootle around doing odd jobs indoors.I have some sewing to do (gloves with a couple of holey fingers)some ironing (left over from the weekend ) and a whizz around with the vacuum in the sitting room then its feet up and a read of my book club book (Obamas life story )and maybe some knitting and t.v. later on In other words, just a bit of catching up to be getting on with of jobs that have been left.I'm still shopping from my freezer at the moment so no need to go out(feels a bit nippy anyway)
plus I have a rotten sore throat at the moment so I'm dosing myself up to get rid of it.
Hope you are all enjoying the half term. The boys were great yesterday and we did lots of crafting then in the afternoon I took them to the local dry ski centre as they had some left over vouchers for toboggan rides.I sat and read my book in the warm of the cafe there and they queued up for their rides.returning every now and then for a drink.
My eldest DD is in Torquay with her OH and in-laws and she had got a really good deal at The Grand there .She texted me to say that the weather was freezing though, but the hotel was nice which helps.
DGS Danny is coming to dinner tonight bless him, so I will rummage around the freezer and find some curry in there as its his favourite.
Have a great day everyone what ever you are doing
    Cheers JackieO xxx
PS Have a great birthday Julie67 my eldest will be 46 this December but to me she is still my little 'un :):):)

    Morning all,

Happy Birthday Julie :bdaycake:have a great one.

Bitterly cold here but with a nice breeze dont think I have enough washing for a load but I will check.

Dinner for us will be something and chips not sure what yet will go and rummage in the freezer.

Need to have a good tidy through and hoover / mop floors. Will go and see my dear dad later on and help him with his lunch.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx
  • Morning all :)

Very chilly here this morning, could not feel my hands on the way to work (mild Reynauds :() so have just about warmed up enough now...

Isle of Wight was brilliant, but it went far too quickly for our liking! Looking to try and get a 7 day stay for later on in the year so we can really relax and enjoy.

OH has finally given in to this bug/virus thing that is going round. He was poorly on Friday and I honestly thought he had tonsillitis but it seemed to go away again. Went into work Tuesday still feeling rough, tried to get rid of his on call and his boss refused to ask anyone - he ended up being out until 6am the next morning  He's finally called in sick and is having a day of bed - hopefully that will shift it! He's back on call Friday and Sunday so I hope he's able to get back to work - or actually get any kind of sympathy from his boss :( I have to go to the hospital Monday and they won't let him come with me as he has no holidays left - apparently if we were married it would be ok

Nephew is over at mums tonight so we're having his favourite - Nanny's lasagne :D

Happy Birthday Julie67, hope you have a lovely day

    morning!

    Happy Birthday Julie67!:beer::bdaycake:

I've only just realised who you are(FB:D) have a fabulous day x

Busy one here. Art group shortly, picking DS2 up from the train and taking him to work - we're having lunch in M's cafe then straight off to work - not getting home till 10.30 tonight.

House clean and tidy - upstairs needs a vac and there's ironing to do but it will keep.

    (((hugs))) to those feeling poorly

Have a great day all x

Lindsay - you have my sympathy - I get Reynauds badly and winter is a nightmare - not just winter though, supermarket shopping is no fun either with the cold aisles. Hope you manage to keep warm x
    Do what you love :happyhear
