    My other worry is that some of the things listed on my Asda recs are a bit eg milk, hand wash, cat food - so there might be things on recs that could be snapped

    At least with Asda there is most of the barcode, just the last digit missing so if the price is correct at least it's worth seeing if it is the right item - tesco receipts also have vague items on their receipts.

    Has anyone tried this with online shopping? Does it work? How quickly does the cashback come through?

    For some reason I thought you could only do this with a smart phone (I don't have one but I do have a scanner and digital camera), have realised my mistake, and luckily I am off to tesco tomorrow :D
