Could I give this away as a FREE bonus in my listing?

I know that you can place autoresponders into your auction so that you can build up your customer database, but can you offer a bonus in your listing without breaching eBay policy.

It's a FREE bonus, and as you can't post html in this forum I've placed the bonus on my website, here's the link.

Also would the dynamic html violate the terms, or should it be normal html at the bottom of the listing?

Please let me know what you think.

  • hmmm, just like your "own personal website" that looks eerily like a referrer link in sheeps clothing.......

I think if you offered that ON your listing someone could report you for listing a link to a URL, and your auction could possibly be pulled. Might be better to just say "free bonus" give a few details of the bonus and send details in end of auction email.

Put simply ..... If you aren't allowed to sell it on EBay, you aren't allowed to give it away as a "bonus", "free gift", etc, etc, etc.

    :)

Edit: As for your "Own Personal Website" ........ One word, PANTS! :p

Right, so I won't be adding the bonus here, but could I still use the dynamic html to make the autoresponder box appear as an amazon drop-in rather than at the bottom of my auction?

Or does anyone knows the link to the policy about the types of html allowed in listings? I've seen a few listing using that merlin wizard to appear and talk to you, is that allowed?

I have to know..... What sort of person would actually bother to read this kind of advertisement, regardless of whether or not it was "free" or "for sale"?
