jet2 flight delay

Hi
Sent a letter to jet2 about our 5 hour flight delay from Manchester to Rome last october. flight was delayed because of a problem fixing the cockpit window, they arranged another
plane eventually but say no compensation is possible due to the
extraordinary circumstances that occured and are not covered under the regulations.

any help please?

I was delayed by 3 hrs 15mins when travelling Manchester to gran canaria. I've written to jet2 but now reply. I'm just going to take them to court rather than messing around with 'polite' letters..
