Recently Switched to Npower
I've recently switched to Npower (December) and I was wondering if anyone was having the same issue:
My electricity meter and reading is showing when I logon, however my gas meter isnt showing. I've made several calls to Npower, who at first told me to wait 28 days as the account was still being set up. Then I rang again and they're now telling me that there is a problem with their system and it won't be fixed for 28 days! The CSR said this was affecting customers and they were aware of it.
I was wondering if someone at Npower is having me on or if this is affecting customers who have recently switched?
As a result, despite submitting regular readings, I haven't had one bill confirming how much I've used.
Apologies if this has been raised somewhere, however I couldn't find anything.
Thanks, Fazer.

Make a formal complaint and they will only have 56 days to resolve it0

Frazer you could give them another call explaining you are worried that you don't know the amount you have used and if you gave them a meter reading could they put your mind at rest and work it out for you?0

Hi, I don't know if their systems have improved at all but when I was with Npower it didn't matter how many readings you entered the account was only updated and a bill produced once every 6 months.0

Has your gas been confirmed, it may still be going throughDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Same thing happened to me, I complained but they didn't do anything except keep apologising. Took 4 months to set up gas. So that's BG and npower off my list for life. EDF was actually OK but expensive. But I guess they're all as bad as each other so I'm going to try every other energy company once. Hopefully they will all pay me a bit of cashback for switching.0

Hi, I have tried just about every energy supplier and have to say that that Scottish Power have the best online accounting , every time you enter a meter reading you get your current account balance immediately.0

Without the facility set up to input a gas reading I don't see how any supplier could give an instant online update of the account :huh:0 -
But the OP is with nPower...

Yep and thats the problem I have. I've moved three months ago now and still have no idea how much I have used.
I will write a letter of complaint as other users have suggested, which will hopefully spur them into action!
Thanks all your advice.0 -
They may not have the online account set up but the details of the real world account should be available. Do you not have the date and opening read? You should still be able to be told this via telephone.
You can then work out how much you have used (and spent).0 -

Why complain when all you need to do is call them with a meter reading and let them tell you what they have used?
Life does not have to be complicated just a little effort and your sorted.0
