Broadband Charges

I have been paying £27.99 per month for a broadband service at a property that I vacated in 2001! I have only just discovered that this charge was not for an email subscription and don't even think broadband existed in 2001. The company have said that they will immediately cancel this and will refund me 6 months. Surely they would have been able to tell that I was no longer using that service at that property... is there anything I can do to reclaim my money back. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Guessing you don't check your account then to have been paying for somethings you haven't had in 11 - 12 years!
Time to start checking you monthly statements.

Not sure whats the most concerning here - paying for it for 11/12 years.. or that you were happy to pay for so long for an email subscription??

Whether you use the service or not is irrelevant, what you pay for is the provision. You currently have broadband at your new address: if you don't use it for a month, you still pay the same monthly sub. 6 months refund is a generous offer, so grab it while you can.
I too cannot imagine what kind of dial-up service cost £27.99 per month in 2001?
