Britannia Mortgage 5 year Fixed - no fee

Hi.......I am !!!!!! !!!

Just saw this that the Britannia (coop) are offering a fee free 5 year fixed at 2.79%. I only applied and have now had my mortgage confirmed at the old admin fee which was £999.

The house has not completed - can I do anything?

    Ask the lender.

Just checked both sites, the best fee free is a 75% 5 Year at 3.39%.

    The 60% 5Yr 2.79% is still showing £999 fee

    Ok, thanks.

As £150 is the Booking fee, they may refund back £849?? But like Kingstreet said ask the lender. Britannia are pretty human over the phone and usually quite helpful.

Could I phone, cancel and then reapply tomorrow?

Until someone actually picks up the phone and asks the questions, we have no way of knowing what the lender will, or won't, accept.

Unfortunately, that means someone who has an application in to Brit or Co-op is going to have to trailblaze for us and report back for future enquirers.

    Thanks.

  • I spoke to the call centre this morning, they didn't even know about the change themselves until a long hold on the phone!

I'm in the same position - The £150 was paid out of my account 2 days ago.

They have told me they will not refund the £150 but will change my product code to the new one on Thursday - which will save £849.

    Will report back on Thursday!
