Actually I think commentate is the wrong word. You do go on a bit don't you? Do you honestly think that many people are going to read the tracts that you post.2sides2everystory wrote: »I observe, callum. I commentate.

You think? You stick to tweeting and I'll do what I have been doing for years which isn't simply observing and commentating, is it? Like it or leave it, don't you at least think that with all my "going on a bit" my posts will cause thousands of interesting diversions to Googlers on many varied topics for years to come? Will they be angry with me do you think if they find their Google Search for "Aspro" "broncitis" (mispelled) and "Hijab" yields this thread? :rotfl:Actually I think commentate is the wrong word. I ALWAYS shop around when buying flights, and last year BA were far and away cheaper than EZY,and even Monarch and TUIfly. And I'm talking several hundreds of pounds cheaper, not pennies. SO, we booked BA, and a few days before departure we were offered an upgrade to Club Europe, again for a small amount. We took it, it was still cheaper than EZY to the tune of around £300.....
Now, Ryanair, I am retired ATC, my better half a retired BA skipper. We choose not to fly Ryanair, regardless of how cheap they are. We made the mistake once and it won't happen again.I question their safety-cabin crew that barely speak English? My husband watched the aircraft arrive, the crew did not leave the flight deck for a walkround..mandatory in BA-then we boarded and left. Don't even start me on the pilot recruitment and selection procedures...it's not about who is the best pilot, it's who has the fattest chequebook...they are in the vanguard of lowering standards in the industry, IMHO.
And yet since the invent of Ryanair, BA have had a number of accidents compared to Ryanairs impeccable safety record.
In that time BA has been involved with price fixing, dirty tricks campaign and continues to face legal battles with its own union.
The UK has one of the best air safety records in the world (as I expect you know) and this is due to the high standards of safety laid down by the CAA. These stringent requirements apply to flights landing in and flying over the UK.
There is a lot you can say about Ryanair (mostly unjustified) but the airline flies new planes, employs pilots who have all passed the minimum requirements from the CAA employs cabin crew who too have met the same requirements set out by the CAA and who in 27 years has gone from a small airline, to the biggest in Europe and never ever had a fatal accident.
Commenting on their safety is libellous and completely unfounded.0 -
They continue to succeed because they get people to where they want for a low price, It's really as simple as that. Plus people like the fat that what you don't use you don't pay for, making many people mega savings.
Disclaimer: Ryanair may not always be cheapest, other airlines are available, see skyscanner.net for details.0 -
I think they are actually going through a change of pricing strategy.
A quick search and Edinburgh to Tenerife in July with 20 KG of luggage is the outrageous price of £473 if you pay by CC.
No chance of bagging a cheap fare by booking early.
Im sure it will drop to sub £250 in a few months but meanwhile they seem to want to mug the early bookers0 -
