How do you get the figure of 2500 a day and 850,000 per annum if your only open 195 daysMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

so why then is 850,000 / 195 = 4359 (rounded up)Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

You're printing at a volume where you really should be looking at a service contract for a centralised system. Big-!!! printers are much cheaper per copy than inkjets where the ink costs more than uranium. Everything can be networked to one or several print rooms. The costs can be hammered way way down on what you seem to be paying.
Talk to your local LEA buying consortium about reducing printing costs I would be surprised if you can't halve the cost with some planning, reducing colour printing, and by ditching the inkjets.0 -

Sorry - I should have explained better
it is 195 days per year (term time)
and the number of prints is a combination of copiers and LASER printers
The total Printers + Copiers is 850,000 pa
The prints taken directly from printers is about 487000 pa
The copiers are on contract at 2p /mono and 4p /colour copy (inc paper)
and it is a secondary school0 -
Recalculate!
847,000 Printouts in a year of 195 Days is (847,000 divided by 195 equals 2497.43589744). Round that up to 2,500. So we are back to square one!! We still have 2,500 printouts per day.
At 1p each that would be 2,500 Pence which is £25. At 2p each that would be £50. So it still comes down to how much the school has budgeted for printing. Have they not said something like:
21Twinkle, our records show that we have been spending £100 on 2,500 printouts every 195 Days for the laste 2 Years......That's too much. 4p per printout.....are you crazy, this school cannot afford that for crying out loud. We're in a recession. Jesus Christ, do something about it........Or do they just say comments like this in my workplace :rotfl:

considering the high volume of printing, those costs are pretty steep.
what about the toners, are they included in the price of the contract or buy as you do the paper, which is also high, seen a few places do a reem for 1.99.
so about 100 trees are used for your printing. is this a large schoolMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

The costs are frightening
The school is an average sized secondary (approx 1000 students and 100 staff !!)
The toner is included in the contract price for copiers and also the paper - hence we can half the paper costs to say £15 per day !!
The best option appears to be to use the copiers as colour printers (I know that some of the Ricohs have this option) - or talk teachers into reducing useage !!0 -
What the hell are they printing?
Here's a thought, if the teachers are printing stuff and handing it out tell them to stop and get students to write things down for themselves.
It'll cut your printing costs and the students will remember a lot more than if they just read a handout, if they are reading the stuff they're given! One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0
