Collect plus , false advertising

I took a chance on using collect plus for posting some trainers....I know they have had bad press but sister has used them without problem
So of course the one and only time I use them it goes missing!
CP have spoken to driver who says the item was left in a porch. Buyer lives in a terraced house without a porch!
Now I used them because of this statement
"Our online tracking and 'proof of delivery' ensures your parcels are delivered in line with eBay Buyer Protection guidelines for items worth up to £150 - making any buyer claims quicker and easier to resolve."

So when i said where is my proof of delivery, they say they don't offer proof of delivery, and spiled of a load of tosh....when i pointed out above quote, they apologised and said this was wrong, and as from today there will be an option for signed for and this quote would be removed.
More of a rant really....but surely this is false advertising....would trading standards be interested?
I have taken a screen shot.

Are they refusing you a refund?0

I've only just put the claim in.....but they said they pay back the original price, £30, not £42.50 it went for on Ebay, so i will be out of pocket....fuming!Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0

I only claim back what i paid anyway.
Don't get the false advertising bit though - had it deen delivered - ebay would have accepted it.
Because it wasn't - collect plus are refunding you.
Its one or the other - the same as with Royal Mail.0 -
The times I have used Collect Plus the tracking shows "Delivered to Customer" and a date and time. No signature though.
What does your tracking show OP, does it include thepickup from the shop right through the depots to the delivery one.
Edit: just looked on CP website and it now shows a signature option for an extra £1, that is new.0 -

note the 'proof of 'delivery'
All that requires is online tracking for PP & eBay
what do you expect it to mean?0 -
Proof of delivery means some kind of notification from the buyer, ie a signature.....Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0

Yes it says delivered to customer....but that in itself is not true, as it wasn't.Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -

no it doesnt
that would be proof of delivery and an online signature
proof of delivery(in the context you mean) can be covered by an online service showing it is delivered
does that mean a service not requiring a signature can never be 'delivered'?0 -
but it hasn't been delivered, has it....left in a so called safe place is not safe delivery....the item has not passed through the front door, so therefore cannot be classed as delivered...not in my opinion anyway.Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0

yes, but the point stands on what can be covered by proof of delivery0
