Cheapest way to get dongle and 2GB Data for a fortnight

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice after having confused myself
.
We will be moving into a new house very shortly, and there will be a fortnight between when we move in and when BT can connect our telephone line. I work from home a lot, due to health issues, and wondered what the best deal for me is likely to be (I can set up a SAN, but comms has always been my nemesis
).
Our last month's usage was 1.54 GB, so 2 GB should give me some contingency if BT don't turn up.
From the coverage maps for 3 and O2, I'd only get coverage on a 3G network outdoors, so that rules them out.
Help!

Am I correct in thinking that if O2 doesn't show indoor coverage, that I couldn't get a Giff Gaff SIM, and an unlocked dongle?Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

if you had wanted this earlier, you could get 2GB data and a dongle all in for £10.32 from o2 -- but as you say you have no indoor reception on o2 from where you are so that rules you out anyway.
Now they are charging double for the same stuff. (advertised as 1GB but they do double the data on registration).
Ask neighbours for what networds have data access at your address and find a cheap data deal for it on ebay and buy a dongle.. I unlocked my huawei o2 locked dongle to accept sims from all networks for no hassle at all.0 -
T-Mobile?
You can run the 30 day contract for a month before cancelling and still end up ahead if you go the Cashback route and it pays out. Ditto with their Wireless Pointer.
£50 cashback available with Quidco. A little more with TopCashBack.0 -
London Tiger, I would if I knew them! It's a new build, and I know that at least three houses to the one side of us haven't been occupied yet. Hmm, I think I know someone further down the street though, and he's in IT, so at least I won't look odd if I ask him. Unfortunately I think he may be too far away for me to piggy back onto his wireless network
. We can check Orange and Vodafone when we're next up there, as those are the networks our phones use.
NiftyDigits, I did think about that, but as we will still be living on a building site for a while, we decided to go down the PAYG route in case someone ever digs through the cable or the broadband connection fails. At least I wouldn't be running to my sister's house to use hers, I could just fire up the dongle

To go PAYG, cancel the contract and obtain a PAYG data SIM. It's only a 30 day contract, so no problem.0 -

They will ususally understate the reception so as not to get angry customers/possible lawsuits.
Have you check with orange/tmobile/ee [same network now] and vodaphone?
To be honest, I'd just go with the the network that has most coverage in the area and try my luck with the outdoors only option. It may just work if you sit close to a window.0 -
Get a MiFi device and put it as high as possible by a window on the right side of the building.
Talk Talk are on Vodafone (as far as I know) and offer a 1 month contract which includes 4GB of data (with lots of minutes and texts) for £17.50.
By no means cheap but might be your best option.0
