Hi all,
Is a bit grey today...
Going to have a 'me' day today, well as much as you can with teens at home - this afternoon I have a massage booked with a voucher that DD bought me for birthday/christmas, looking forward to that:D
Simple dinner tonight, gammon (cooked yesterday) egg and chips.
Hope everyones okay, and have a fab day xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Morning all, grey and drizzly here.
I have a wonderful day to look forward to......a friend is taking me to the theatre as a late birthday present (from May last year!!!) and I am taking us out to lunch as a late birthday present to her (april last year!!!). I haven't seen this friend for ages and I am really looking forward to it. We have known each other 30 years!
Son's appointment yesterday went well and I am really impressed with the services for people with learning disabilities in the area he has moved to.
Difficult phone call to ex went ok too.
Dinner will be HM soup as hopefully I will have a large lunch.
From next week work starts to pick up again, I've enjoyed my quiet few weeks, but ready to be up and at 'em again, and certainly need the money!
My dad phoned and asked if I would like to go on holiday with him and my sister for a week in September to the Scilly Isles......well that would be a 'YES PLEASE'! We all love it there and those 2 went last year and although invited I couldn't go, but the apartment they stayed in really impressed them and i love the Scillys. What a lucky girl am I?
Hugs to all who need them.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
We've already been out this morning to drop my car off at the garage for it's annual service.
It's this time of year, with the service, insurance and tax to pay on my car, that I question whether we need two cars.
But I do value the car for the convenience, ease and independence it gives me when I'm at home, so we will keep the two cars going while we are working, but when we stop work in 3-4 years time, we'll definately go down to one car.
DH has dentists appointment for several fillings, so the menu today involves plenty of soup.
I've got a few things to do, but it's just general tidying and sorting so nothing drastic.
So I'll spend the day at home, hoping the garage doesn't ring to say my car needs something major to itEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Morning all,
Quite a few people out on trips today, enjoy:D
Happy Birthday to Moorhens DS  hope the lesson goes well, we will have the same thing with our youngest in June, the last one for driving lessons thank goodness!
Out and about today with dh.
Have already had a call from a creditor this morning but managed to deal with it calmly, just trying to deal with one day at a time at the moment. Finding it quite stressful but I know it's the only way forward.
Also struggling with my diet, can't exercise with my knee and stress always makes me comfort eat, ah well have to settle for being fat and poor at the minute:rotfl:Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Good morning everyone

Second day back at work and am flagging, roll on the weekend please.
Managed my rubbish run last night and the bin men will struggle to empty the bins today. DH has promised to flatten loads of cardboard for me, leftover boxes from things bought years ago still in the loft, and they can go to the tip at the weekend. I am sure I can find some more stuff to accompany them before then.
Dinner will be salmon and pasta with garlic bread, a real quickie and we are still using up reduced smoked salmon from New Year. I need a good sort out of the freezer to see what we have in there and a list to stock up the store cupboard and spice rack at the weekend.
The weather seems to be turning grey and cold here so I didn't risk any washing out this morning and the radiators and airer are full. I think the tumble drier may be out tonight despite my resolution not to use it.
Back to work so will leave with well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day

Morning all,
Not sunny at all today & feels cold and breezy.I want to hoover up but don't want to miss the doorbell with the delivery of DHs watch for Saturday -I know, its a lame excuse for getting out of the housework:D I s'pose I could do some ironing....but that steam iron gets sooo noisy
Have some soup to make today with some ham stock saved from the weekend, poss ham & sweetcorn chowder.Tea I'm thinking of a pasta bake,I've got some mushrooms to use up too.
Julie Thats a shame about your diet-you did so well.I know where you're coming from re comfort eating though, the biscuit tin is taking some stick at the moment.
Nlj-Scilly Isles sounds lovely :j
RRuby,Thank you, I know, its going to take a while to get used to,change in routine and all that.
The trouble is its affecting my dog walking neighbour too cos I'm not going out in the mornings. She has a difficult life with her disabled son and used me as a sounding board on our walks as she doesnt really have many people to talk to.She sent me a half text yesterday afternoon, then rang my mobile before I could reply & was on ages-I'm sure she was drunk
which is what she does when she's stressed.I mentioned sending a card to the vet who treated Leodog and she started crying
which I can do without at the moment if that doesnt sound too horrible. We're not bosom buddies or anything,it tended to be the only time we saw each other unless we were in the street or gardening,& I did go in to feed the dog & cat if she had to be out with her son.Sorry, that was a bit of a ramble
.
Hester, hmm think I might dye my hair later too-I've got a pack ready.
Hugs to all in need x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all!
Cold and grey today, matches my mood. Saw every hour on the clock last night, and stayed in bed reading, so am still in my jammies listening to the WM spinning. Time to give myself a shake, get dressed and get out of the house for a bit!
Have a good day all!RIP Iain

Afternoon All
Bright and sunny here today and I found enough washing for a full load, so that is on the line. Waiting for DH to come home and then we are going shopping.
Don't need a lot, but I do need to get him a birthday card for Friday.
Happy birthday to Moorhen's DS
Oh well I had best get the kettle on
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Well, they did phone, and there's a lot to be done, I'm looking at a bill of about £750 :(
I'm just thinking that apart from servicing and tyres, it might get me through the next three years until we plan so sell it.
Or on the other hand, I'm thinking I can just get the bus.Early retired - 18th December 2014

EEK Goldie, that's a horrible bill, one of the reasons I bought a new car was to hopefully reduce maintenance costs, and since the tax will be cheaper and payments nearly halved for me I would have been daft not to, roll on next month till I collect it!
Well, had shook myself and went out for some air, back home and lamb rogan josh bubbling in slow cooker for dinner as DD wont be home till about 8. Just had occupational health on the phone, have been summoned to see their doctor at the beginning of the month. Deep joy!RIP Iain
