O/S Wednesday 20th 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Good Morning chums ,up with the birds this morning as DD is back to work and I have the four boys today to look after.Only for today this week as my son-in-law is working from home tomorrow and Friday .
Not as cold as yesterday morning (well there is no ice on my car at least)My eldest DD and her OH and in-laws have gone off to Torquay this morning for a couple of days,I hope its not too chilly for them .I am still staying out of the supermarkets and eating from my freezer which is using up the stores and saving me a fortune.only trouble is when I will eventually go to get some shopping I will be cross that its gone up yet again,as things seem to be rising on an almost daily basis at the moment.Today I am going to get the boys to make thier own flags and will take some of my crafting stuff roundI have a large box of La Plume pens which I know will come in handy. The youngest Mikey has a project for school to make around castles so will probably give him a hand with that.
My builder too has a couple of days off as he want to take his children out but I don't mind and he will finish it all off on Friday. There is only a few odds and ends to do anyway.
Right off to have a shower and make some breakfast,a mushroom omelette I think as I have several mushys that want using up today.
Have a great day everyone what ever you are doing

            Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dry, light cloud, breezy but no frost here this morning.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Work turned out to be a manic Tuesday - I knew that being so quiet on Monday we would pay for it at some point! At 3.50pm we had a queue at Reception that reached the entrance doors and we close at 4pm! We all pitch in and deal with the customers (as long as we've not got customers of our own and/or the boss/supervisor will come and help too!) It seems the general theme will be horrendously busy days with a quieter one here and there!
Dinner last night was pasta in a creamy tomato sauce (used up LO double cream and mascarpone) put some s/sausages and mushrooms in that needed using up too and had a carton of tomato passata - made it up as I went along but have made a similiar dish from a recipe several times before, was very nice and there was clean plates all round. Tonight will we be having pork chops, mash/roasties, veg, LO cauli/brocc cheese, LO yorkshires and gravy.
I'm only working today until lunchtime - then I'm on annual leave until 4 March - sounds such a long time but basically I have a week off next week! Have loads I want/need to get done - so will be flyladying and have several other bits to do too. It's not that long since I've had some time off but I went ages last year before taking leave and was more than ready for time off and now think it's catching up with me a bit! Whilst I'm off I will look at trying to book further annual leave later in the year (already have my 2 weeks summer hols booked). Also want to do some personal work on the computer as suspect that workwise there's going to be some big changes - so want to be one step ahead with keeping my options open and being ready for whatever comes my way.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all:j:j
Chilly but dry here.
Today my wife has the day off. We are talking the twins to one of our local big library's that have a craft and art day on. The day is a free day put on by the local council, I do have to add mitt. Our local council do put quite a few Free things on for the younger children during the school holidays.
Also today from lunchtime on wards a local Pub is having a charity family day. All You have to do is go along to the pub make a donation, There will be Art,craft. Face painting and a bouncy castle there. They are also hoping to have a few people dressed up going around entertaining the Kids too.
We have said that we will people In and have a little lunch there. The Girls can then take part in what ever is going on.
So a full day here ahead for us.
No real eating plans for dinner tonight.
Well I hope that you all have a great day today. what ever your doing.
Enjoy :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
            Morning everyone,
JackieO Enjoy your day with the boys.
Today is DS's 17th birthday, he has a driving lesson booked for this afternoon, so if you are in the Nottingham area stay off the roads!!!
I am up early to drop DD1 at a friend's house where they are going paint balling for the day, she is a bit nervous about it!
I will try to pop back later.
Have a lovely day everyone:)0 -
            Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at work with his packup, sausage & onion sarnies.
Today's plans include making some HM readymeals for hubby's lunches next week, doing my roots & having a proper shower, one that includes epilation & exfoliation, rather than just hurtling in & out trying to break the world speed limit for showering.
The floors need a wipe over, the marks that didn't vacuum up are marks, not dust bunies, lol.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

            Morning all,
Not quite so nice here today, but still blowy, so will get my wash on the line, need to hoover through and mop down stairs.
Dinner tonight will involve mince (from the butcher) I think I might do mince in a gravy with mash and veg.
Need to nip to the local shop, we have run out of a few essential bits, so will get them in.
Rosyred, you are bound to miss him, he was part of your life for so long xxx
Have good days all xx0 -
            Morning All!
DGD up early - I'd have loved another hour in the land of nod!
Not sure what's on the menu today yet - either food or activity wise! Need to get some washing done that's for sure! Dogs to be walked later on but beyond that who knows...
Hope you all have a good day. Take care!Resolution:
