Sky Broadband & McAfee Security

In an attempt to cut down on some household bills cancelled my TV package with Sky but kept phone and broadband. Was then informed that my next bill would be £30 so I rang today to cancel the package as I'm sure I can get something cheaper elsewhere.
The customer service rep asked me why I was cancelling and I explained it was the cost. She told me I had paid a higher charge as they hadn't deleted the discount that I had when I had the TV.
She then told me I had McAfee security - I said "I don't want that". She told me I had it for free for the first 12 months and after that I had completed my bank details to continue with the subscription for the last 2.5 years. I have never done this as I didn't know I had McAfee in the first place.
On checking the original paperwork from Sky I have never received anything about the broadband package apart from a one page letter confirming my broadband order.
Does anybody know if they can just take this money without my agreeing to it?
Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

It will have been somewhere in the (very) small print). Did you not notice the increase in your DD after the free 12m period ended, or was it not itemised on your subsequent monthly bills? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Log into your Sky account, you'd expect to see it itemised there.

Not quite sure how you get to £30, I assume it includes line rental? That gum you like is coming back in style.0
