Hi there
Scam alert please read!
I have been given the complete run a round by Vodaphone my mobile service provider
My bank account has been debited by an extra £70.00, due to charges by a company I have never heard of "OXYRA, P2e.com, and another £60.00 pending.
The phone belongs to my 13 year old and he is saying he has never registered for these products.
Vodaphone have been useless and have told me all they can do is change his number.
What I am finding difficult to understand is that Vodaphone is collecting this money on oxyra's behalf so are complicit in the scam.
They have no advice and cannot give me any details for this very suspect company oxyra.
After some digging around on the net, it appears they are associated with another company called ergma.com.
Although on their website it has a London number, they are located in the US, and all associated websites are very poor and I still cannot not find what it is they actually sell. It appears a very complicated setup in order to confuse those who wish to complain or try and ask for a refund.
I have spoken to some one at ergma in the US, who informed me that Vodaphone must block all premium services on his number, however Vodaphone say they cannot.
What a load of rubbish! Welcome to the modern world, many years ago this sort of thing was called stealing!
Neither company has offered to refund any of the money, no surprise there.
I can't stop the direct debit as I would be in breach of contract, and Vodaphone would then chase me for the money. There only appear to be 2 winners in this scam, Vodaphone and whatever the name of the company is as I have found 3, ergma, oxyra and p2e.com.
I would be interested if anyone else has come across this before and what was the outcome.
Rant over, thanks for listening.

Oxyra seems to have stopped as of October and re-invented itself as Ergma. They seem to be some sort of quiz site where you pay £10 every 3 days for a chance to win a prize!
p2e seem to be the billing company.
There is a thread on it here:

What is very strange is the contact number of the Ergma site is listed on yell.com as belonging to a scrap metal dealer! :huh:0 -
Yes, and sadly Vodafone are correct - premium service are only provided to contract holders - so the fact you are 'fronting' a contract for a child is your decision. Not only can he access premium services (whether done by him directly or a 'friend') he also has full web access without restriction.
If you took the safer option of PAYG, services are restricted automatically as proof is required to access adult services. Further any inappropriate premium services if dialled would quickly use up credit and problems stopped in their tracks.
Who the winners are, are of no consequence - you agreed to Vodafone charging you for all services consumed, so if you replied STOP to these services and they contined, you have a legitimate complaint to the premium call regulator.
Providing a contract phone to a child is irresponsible, and you've experienced first-hand of how your finances can be impacted as a result.0 -
dont let your 13 year old have a contract phone? What goes around-comes around0
