Sorry, didn't mean your last post was a rant
I was just being nostalgic lolAll matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -

I thought it may have been just Admiral but from the feedback I guess it's others too.
I was suspicious because when my wife changed her car from a Mini Cooper to a much cheaper Fiesta we expected her policy to be cheaper, however it actually went up. Admirals justification for this was that the car was unfamiliar to her so she was a greater risk driving it!!
Regarding my original post I found that Co-op insurance have given me the same quote with or without my non-claim and it's much cheaper so they will be getting my business this year instead of Admiral. It pays to shop around.

That is highly unlikely. Remember that the telephone staff are usually only trained to deal with basic enquiries and sales. They wont know the details of the pricing generally. If they did, they wouldnt be on the phones.Regarding my original post I found that Co-op insurance have given me the same quote with or without my non-claim and it's much cheaper so they will be getting my business this year instead of Admiral. Not all companies will increase the price. I believe LV are another that do not on non-fault claims. However, every insurance company has its own pricing model and will price for different risks.
Its a bit like the people that say they wont use companies that charge admin fees and then pay premiums that are say £40 a year higher. The admin fee is factored into everyones premium. CIS could factoring non-fault claims into everyones premium.Getting Insurance feels like swimming in a pool of sharks these days.
Its just like any other area of DIY. There are things to be aware of and if you are not you can make mistakes or a pigs ear of it. However, if you do know what you are doing then you can end up with good savings and what you need.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). There is another thread today where Admiral put up their insurance for getting an immobiliser fitted!
Could that be just down to untrained telephone staff too? If so Admiral are making a lot of money out of not training their staff.
I won't be going near Admiral in the future, seems like their cheap quotes are just to lure you in so that they can cash in later.
Maybe people are just blindly accepting this and they just get away with it? Is there a regulator I can report this too?0 -

Could be because the immobiliser is not recognised whereas the manufacturer security is.Could that be just down to untrained telephone staff too?
Who knows given so little information. Is there a regulator I can report this too?

They just need one question,
Do you feel lucky?
Yes - overconfidant, bad risk, premium goes up.
No - nervous, bad risk, premium goes up.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
My renewal came through the other day from Admiral. £50 up from last year for no reason.
Did a comparison site quote, £110 cheaper with the same company. Phoned them up and they matched it .
