I bought a punnet of nectarines and a punnet of peaches the other day (2 for £3). Yesterday I noticed that the nectarines were going mouldy and the peaches were brown inside. I've never had a problem with Waitrose food before, but thought I'd better take them back for a refund (£3 is £3 after all).
A lovely lady at the customer service desk apologised profusely, asked if I wanted a replacement or refund and I asked for a refund. The lady then said she would refund me double as the fruits were of bad quality. She then gave me £12! :T
I'm impressed that I didn't even have to show the receipt (I had it ready), the lady was very nice and professional and I felt really valued as a customer. Well done Waitrose :T

I may have this wrong but they accidentally gave you £12 not £6 and you didn't say anything?

To the OP, Waitrose is great for CS. I went once and saw that my fave brand of apples were reduced but the tills hadn't yet been updated. They then apologised profusely and charged me the princely sum of 50p for about 10 of them.0

there was no accidentally about it - read the OP's post properly and you will see the customer service assistant refunded double because the fruits were bad quality and OP was told of this.
I like Waitrose. The Christmas before last I was at my Mum's for Xmas and because I'm such a fussy eater who doesnt eat much meat Mum took me in there to find something for my Xmas dinner. The assistant there couldnt do enough to help and fetched and carried various things to us - Mum is disabled and I was very poorly at the time - and so I had a very yummy Xmas dinner*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

I have read the OP properly and emboldened the pertinent bits but last time I checked (and I admit my maths is poor) double £3 is £6 not £12.0 -

Fruit was 2 for £3.
£3 X 2 = £6

I basically got refunded double of "original" price, meaning without the offer (2 for £3). Yes, I only paid £3. No, I don't feel guilty about receiving £12, especially as I do spend a decent amount of money in the store. The lovely CS knew what she was doing as far as I'm concerned0

Waitrose are very proud of their customer service and rightly so. I do wish that Sainsburys would take a leaf out of their book - seem to pay as much but without the really charming behaviour of most of the staff. I wish the other supermarkets would invest in this.0

Sainsbury's are there to keep the riff raff out of Waitrose0
