O2 retentions stalemate

Hi, due an upgrade with o2, currently on (discounted) 200 mins and 500 txts @ £15 per month.

Was offered same deal at £25 on 18 months with SE K810i at £49.99 or Samsung U600 free,

Told em to stick it as virgin are doing 200 mins and 500 txts for 12 months at £25 with rollover mins and down to £20 after 12 months.

Was quite simply put through to retentions who quite happily advised me they send out my PAC code!

Should i sit tight and let them phone me or should i snap up the deal from Virgin?

?????????????????????????????

I would sit tight, you will still be able to take the virgin deals as the pack code will be valid for 28 days, you will more than likely get a call off o2 a few days before your contract ends and they may offer more.

I agree, leave - they did the same to me.

Reading the amount of posts on here I think they have a target to achieve of getting customers to leave o2!

I was on O2 250 mins 100 texts three months rolling for £30/month, 2 months after the end of contract called them to upgrade and they wouldn't offer anything better.
Tried a couple of times and cancelled the contract - no one seems to be bothered that they have not only lost me but 5 other customers who are leaving O2 now.
So threat to leave may not get you the deal you wanted. If you want to stay with O2 haggle.
I wouldn't pay too much specially for 18 months contract because technology and call prices are getting cheaper everyday.

i'm in the process of upgrading my phone at the mo. Am undecided between Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson k810i / k800i (heard bad things about N95). A fortnight ago, I rang up three times to get my PAC code, each time I was asked why, and each time they were able to offer me something different. I told each person I'd think about it and get back to time. Still yet to do this, but I think if you keep calling you'll find someone who'll give you what you want at your price.

    Leave.
They dint bother ringing me before i ported my number. Unless youre a big tarriff spender, then you aint worth anything to 02.
I was on the same tarriff as you and they offered me the same "less for more" tarrif.
I ditched em and went to T-mob flext 20 package with a free k800 (great phone) and a free 1gig memory stick

My 12 month contract finished last week (on o2 250)

I'm now looking at either nokia e65 or n95, not sure which just yet. I've been quoted £43 to upgrade to e65.

The thing is, I'm led to believe that if people don't upgrade their phones now... they get £100 credited to their account. Plus, I'm missing out on the Long Weekends offer as it stands.

They haven't phoned me. Looking at maybe visiting an o2 shop (I'd just get a new deal but don't have a credit card).

To be honest, I think o2 contracts are pretty useless anyway - there appears to be much better scope if you go onto PAYG (the text prices are cheaper for a start!!), so I'm totally undecided. I spend about £70 a month (tariff, bolt-on, 36mb data package)
