Hi There
I too only bought a Samsung TV back in August.
Unfortunately for us, we bought from Comet.!!!
However, the Samsung customer Service has been Fantastic!!.
We bought a very expensive and large SMART TV and due to the size, they sent an engineer out. You can see on their website, whether you will get an engineer or take to your local repair centre. I think it depends on the size of the tele.
We had to have an entirely new screen fitted to ours (most of the tele). But it is brilliant now...no probs whatsoever.
I have learnt though to now buy via John Lewis who give 5 year guarantee with their electricals. Because if we now face a problem after August this year, we may aswell chuck the tele away! as another new screen wouldnt be worth forking out for after the year guarantee has expired.
So anyhow, give Samsung a call, they register your details, give you a reference number which you can quote anytime and they sort things very quickly. Probably more so than if you went into the store where you purchased from. After all, they are only salespeople, and not really interested in any problems which you may incurr!!

If you used a credit card to pay (and the item was more than £100) then the CC company would be jointly liable for fulfilling your rights under SOGA. So the fact Comet are now defunct does not mean all is lost.0

If it's bigger than 32", I'm fairly sure Samsung send an engineer to try and fix it in home. They only take it to the repair centre if it's not possible to fix in home. But it does depend on the service centre
This is true. My 42" got repaired in the home.
There is hardly anything in the TV and they just replaced the screen. When I looked inside there where only 3 circuit boards.0
