sue-uu when you arrive are you as strange as you sound in your posts on here and in the stop drinking thread, for someone who quit cigs 9 years ago and who doesn't drink what exactly are you doing on these threads rsvp in daylight hours

Sorry to appear so strange ab. Might sound strange I suppose if someone wants to try and help others, though I don't know why. I try to help with people quitting smoking as I know the harm it can do and the strength it needs to stop.

Where the drinking thread's concerned, you've obviously read the post on there where I've been trying to help and encourage others where possible as my Mother drank a lot when she was younger so I could see that from a youngsters point of view, which isn't very nice. Sorry to appear strange.

Good luck everyone, I hope you all achieve your goals. Sue

    Morning Everyone,

Well I am fast approaching the 4 week mark! I'd been fine up until this weekend. I've been ill all week and only started feeling better on Saturday. I stayed in on Saturday night and had a few drinks and I couldn't stop thinking about fags! Aaargh what's wrong with me? I hadn't thought about the nasty things for 24 days, why now?

    Well done everyone btw!

Jeekers, I leave you kids alone for the weekend and there's hair and teeth flying everywhere!

Deep breaths everyone and as a teacher friend of mine suggested, lazy eights. Lazy eights is the imaginary drawing of a figure eight on it's side in the air in front of you with your hand, very calming appara!

I'll give a wee update of my weekend, my oldest brother was getting married on Saturday, on Friday the 4 brothers met up for drinks  in the house with a few friends, eight people, three smokers and one smoker who's trying to quit (me!), everybody was very supportive, even the smokers and we all got royally trolleyed and I didn't have any fags-yay me.

On Saturday we had the wedding, quite stressful but groomsmen don't have too much to do really! Weather was great, the bride looked great as did the bridesmaids and the groom and his 3 brothers were especially handsome!

Being a traditional Irish wedding we all got tore into the drinking  and dancing :jfrom early evening until early morning, a fantastic night made all the more fantastic by not having any fags-double yay me!

Yesterday the four handsome men were not quite so handsome when we went for breakfast, hangovers all round and we thought we'd have a hair of the dog-another feed of pints was had :beer:and then I went home and crawled into my bed about 20.00, still not having had any fags-triple yay me!

I'm just outta my pit now and I thought that I'm a sad little man, I have to let my MSE support network know that it's possible to have a boozy weekend without smoking!

Have a great day folks, I may crawl back into my bed-felling quite rough lol
