Nokia 1100 blank flashing screen on startup
I hope this is the right board to post this.
Today my Nokia 1100 when I tried to switch on, the screen lights up but nothing is displayed. It just flashing on and off as if trying to get onto the next stage. Nothing is showing just a grey blank screen and will not respond to any of the buttons. To turn off I have to remove the battery.
At first I thought it may be the battery and tried it with another but the same result. Have not dropped the phone or exposed it to damp or moisture. It just happened, out of the blue. Have searched the internet and found a couple of reported instances with the same symptoms but no reported solutions.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

if you still have a warranty on the phone (i think most nokias come with a 2yr warranty, but im not sure), send it to nokia for repair.
usually if sony ericssons flash a white screen, they will need the software reloading. i'm pretty sure that nokias are the same, so this will probably need the software reloading.0 -
as gaming_guy says - this is quite common and reloading the s/w should fix it.
you may have a cpw nearby with an onsite repair section that can do it while you wait0 -
Thanks for the quick replies. Cannot really afford a new phone at the moment. Any idea how much reloading the software will cost?0

free if u have warranty ,.. so did u buy it in the last 12months ? if yes u got warranty take it to cpw with proof of purchase,. or if u got it from cpw in the 1st place then they will have it on their systems so they will know if its under warranty or not,.
if its out of warranty a local phone shop should charge 5quid to flash the software0 -
nokias now have 24 months warrenty0

It is out of warranty unfortunately but thanks for all your advice anyway. I will pop into cpw and get it sorted.0
