  • Evening GCers. Just in to report my mahoosive spend at Al*i today of £87.77 - I did get absolutely tons of stuff though, including an Avent set of bottles for the new baby, nappies, 2 lots of washing liquid capsules, cat food in bulk and then a full shop stocking up the fridge, cupboards and fruit bowl. I did use my £5 voucher - no trouble - but I was told off for not flashing my % off vouchers before the contents of my trolley were scanned. She did offer to cancel my shop and start again, but the looks from the people behind me scared me off! So be warned people - have those coupons ready at the start! I'll see how the week goes and go back in to use the coupons if its worth it.

    Happy GCing people :)

PS. I've updated my signature too x

    Fruit & veg: salad x £2, bananas .9kg 63p, SP apples .63kg 76p, carrots 1.2kg 65p, fresh sage 65p, fresh basil 76p, ginger 47p, SP onions 2kg £1.16

    Meat & fish: mince 500g £2

Dairy: grana padano £2.50, SP butter 98pwhole milk 4 pints £1

    General: SP lasagne sheets x2 64p, cornflour £1.40, SP peanut butter 62p, SP passata x2 58p, chickpeas 64p, extra-virgin olive oil 750ml £2.50, cooked chestnuts £1.47, SP mayo 45p, SP orange juices x3 45p, SP oven chips 93p, cola x8 £4.30

Household: SP kitchen roll £1.25, SP bleach 29p, SP food bags x100 73p, fabric spot cleaner £2.50, antibac spray & bleach spray (2 for) £1.50, 50 bin bags £4.49,

Cat: SP cat litter x2 £3.20

Had loads of cleaning stuff to get. Looking at this, I can also see it's the least fruit and veg I've ever got in a weekly shop  which is making me panicky, but I just have to remember I had loads in, including a whole cabbage, three peppers, a courgette, some odd leftover bits (carrots, radishes, mushrooms, tomatoes, half a bag of salad and onions), plus I have frozen peas, tinned tomatoes & pulses etc. Better to get less then end up chucking it out, and I can always pick up more if we run out!

Had a medley of salady bits for dinner, including: HM pittas, HM hummous, HM coleslaw, leafy salad, garlic dip and spicy couscous with pistachios and dried apricot. So tasty, this is a favourite meal for both OH and I and the different salads/dips get varied each time, except we always have pittas and hummous.

I also had two wrinkly apples and two wrinkly plums, which I made into individual crumbles for pudding, mmmmm! They're in the oven just now :)

  • Well, not too bad a day I suppose, £1.46 on a loaf of bread and £5.99 on dog biscuits so thats £346.28p left for the next 28 days.... why is spending it so much easier than earning it????
  • Evening fellow challengees

Did weekly shop a day early today, lots to do for my day off tomorrow, so trying to get ahead.

So, £42.82 at Mr Ald*, after using my £5 voucher and some of % discount vouchers (didn't realise you had to give those in before they start scanning your shop :o, nice chap managed to take discount off for me anyway).

Also, small spends since last reported, kitchen towel, DS's shampoo and new ironing board cover in W*lkos totalling £5.45 and mascara in Superdr+g £2.99. One I bought in Poundl*nd few days ago all dried out so that's going back, hardly a bargain if it can't be used!

Not sure if I should count ironing board cover, sort of a laundry consumable I suppose, so will.

Have updated signature. Not doing bad, although got a bit of stuff to get in next few days that Mr Ald* doesn't do, so may feel less positive then :).

Hope everyone has a good week, happy budgeting x

    Keep Smiling :)

Three days gone and four spends at Mr T!

Friday top up for the evening meal, Saturday afternoon for the weekend buffet food as we had friends coming over today, early evening as my partner had to pop out to get some extra meat as my family decided to stay for dinner and than mini top up this morning for some fresh bread!

Still hoping to stay on track this month as we are away for nearly a week so hopefully no spending then!

We have also bought a second freezer for the garage so we can make a lot more batches of food at the weekend to freeze and eat throughout the week!

Also planning on getting that bread machine soon too that should be good and hopefully cost saving! :)

Had a spend today so no money left from this week's £25. Hope for a better week coming up.
For dinner we had HM TITH with roast potatoes, parsnip, carrot, swede, onion and gravy - there was an odd sprout and bit of cauli too.
