but i must confess i spend a fortune on cleaning products .... im always cleaning and tidying turn my back and something else needs cleaning or tidying .... ive brought some stardrops stuff to try to try and cut the cost of this BUT
confession #2 i like using antibacterial spray (i buy asdas one not dettol anymore) i suppose it makes me feel safe ... and that things are properly clean
confession #3 most of my last shop was toiletries and cleaning stuff i dont even know what i have :mad: and what i dont have
I buy Zoflora disinfectant which works out a lot cheaper. You can use 1 capful and put in a spray bottle with 400ml water and this is anti bacAnd some Mary Berry scones to help fill their hollow legs. I want to try trail mix with them but not sure they will go for it.
Any ideas?
I buy Island mix at Mr T and mix with a few chocolate drops and my kids like this in a small container as part of their packed lunch.

Evening all
Someone asked about the washing powder on offer yesterday it was MrM's - I got 3 x 25 washes of P****l biological - so a really good brand. I always mix it with cheaper own brand from any one of the big 3 SM's just to make the powder go further. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you.
Keep safe and well x

Started trying to follow slimmnig world last week which can get expensive if you don't plan ahead, so on the hob I currently have a vat of curried parsnip soup, another vat of lentil, carrot & ginger soup and a pan of tomato sauce for pasta. Also did some potato wedges while the oven was on for dinner. Going to stick some bread in the breadmaker in a minute and I think I've given up on banana bread until tomorrow.....
Here's to a cheap and slimming week:D

Hi
Been MIA recently, but am still doing the grocery challenge. I find having a set budget really helps me to stay on track (and Mr PP is getting the hang of it too!)
Slipped a bit the last couple of weeks and ended up throwing out some salad/veg stuff. Still came in under budget for Feb by £34.12 so that's gone into the bulk buy/contingency pot. Doing my meal plan and main shop fortnightly is really helping too.
March is a 5 week month for us, so budget is set at £250 and I've spent about £76 today between A*di and Mr S, so on target so far:j
Better go and catch up with my reading whilst the dinner's cooking
catch you all later

Hi everyone,
Budgets done to here
Welcome/welcome back to:

NSD for me today :j:j Spent a good while in the garden, splitting plants and planting them up elsewhere. Very satisfying.
Made spaghetti bolognaise for dinner, a large batch of twinks and a lemon drizzle cake. Need to make and freeze some pizza bases. Only have one sachet of yeast, so will make half quantity (4) to go with the lonely one in the freezerCBA'd to go shopping just for one item - and I know I will pick up other things
Have a good evening everyone

Failed today!
My GC does include kitchen stuff as well, and I find it difficult to resist the temptation to pop another 'useful' item in my trolley. I know that even going into a kitchen shop is fatal, so I do try to avoid them, but we had to pick up some clothes that OH had ordered online in MaS today, and somehow found myself wandering in M&S home ....and 15 minutes later paying £33.10 at check out..:D
This was for 1 colander (dishwasher proof, and will replace 2 colanders that were not dishwasher proof and which are now both very rusty), and 4 cereal/pudding bowls (and the paper).
It's partly OH's fault (and not only because we had to go to MaS to collect his stuff), but also because whilst I was trying to convince myself I "liked" the cheaper bowls better than the more expensive ones, he came up and said that the cheaper ones looks like something he would put outside in the garden to feed the birds! So expensive bowls it was!
Luckily we had a 20% voucher, and it seemed lots of other people as well because it was very busy.
Should have a NSD tomorrow.
Btw, question, are NSD only GC related or should it be a totally NSD, ie not spending anything from any other budget either? I'm trying to count all NSD TOTAL but just wondering what the 'etiquette' around NSD is.
Thanks!0 -
