T Mobile Over Charge

Hi

My usual bill on my iPhone is £27.00. This morning, T Mobile have taken out £41.00. Obviously this is not a massive different, but more than I expected, and as such it has made me go overdrawn which will result in a further bank charge!!:mad:

They sent me a text for a free treat from their t-mobile van. My free treat last month was free news texts, updating you on the latest news.

Turns out when I got my bill, that they actually charged me for this privelege! I called them and they didn't actually apologise they simply said they'll refund the difference into my bank account.

When I explained that it had made me overdrawn, they simply said it isn't their fault as I can view my bill anytime I want on the internet, and as such, I should of notified them if I was being charged wrongly!!

Any ideas on this one, I don't think it's totally fair to be honest!:mad:

It's a common response which doesn't hold water.

If their error has caused you a genuine financial loss then you should write to them explaining why and giving proof of the loss.

Why on earth would you give anyone the ability to take unspecified amounts from your bank account, then complain when you don't have enough in the account? Sure, there is an expectation they will only take what is expected, but you were wrong - and you have paid the price for this trust.

Any network promotion will be there for a reason, usually to increase use of the trialled service. It will rarely end at the end of the offer, but leave you being charged until you unsubscribe.

Unfair? Hmm, perhaps, but it is legal and relies on the consumer to take responsibility for their actions.
