Npower only 1 bill in 13 months?
Hi,
Im getting myself confused with Npower and there online billing.
Switched to them in jan 12 and got my 1st bill in about August with me in debit by £300. I increased my direct debits as I like to stay in credit.
There website is very slow and takes ages to log in.
My website is showing a massive credit amount, but there no bill against it, even when we know the metre has been read several times.
Is this normal, or Am I missing something?
I dont feel in control of my bills with them at the moment
Thanks
Barry

Wouldn't Npower(not yourself) have increased your Direct Debit?
Have you entered your meter readings on-line? That will normally generate an on-line bill for you to read.0 -
I increased the dd by more than there suggestion to be on the safe side.
Its got actually meter readings lodged in the history. I will try and submit my own...0 -
Hi bazza1603,
This sounds very strange. Are there no bills showing on your online account, and are you signed up for paperless billing?
If you can pop me over your details to forumresponse@npower.com, I can get this looked into for you?
Many thanks,

Am also confused by Npower website. Not had a bill at all (Npower took over supply in June 2012). Npower taking DD each month. Online account has no information at all. No bills to view, no account balance, no meter reading history, just name, address, and email.0

This seems to be a recurrent problem. I am on quarterly variable direct debit, and my bill is 1 month overdue. Despite me chasing it for the last month Npower seem to be useless. The people on the phone are constantly puzzled as to why a bill hasn't been generated, then tell me just to continue waiting. One even suggested "why dont I just pay some money into my account" when I said I wanted a bill now so i can pay the bill off now rather than have a gigantic bill in 6 to 12 months time!
Incompetence.0 -
You know the readings when you switched (or you can telephone them and find out). You know the meter readings today. Thus you can work out how things are standing.
Yes, Nik, there is incompetence. But I fail to see what is wrong with their suggestion. That is what any reasonable person would do.0 -
So long as you have made attempts to pay them and you/they have the money in place to pay for your usage, then their incompetence will cost them money. The "Back Billing" code may come into effect where they cannot bill you back for more than 1 year.
You'll gain if it does come to that, so I'd just let them get on with it (or not).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Hi, I wonder if someone can help me with this.
We recieved our n power bill in feb with 200 pounds outstanding, I called and paid the outstanding balance and was told I could keep my direct debit as it was because I had paid be outstanding amount, on the 1st march a different much larger amount came out of my account, when I called I got someone completely useless who told me my account was locked and no new bill could be generated and I would just have to pay the larger amount. I will be switching soon as I can't afford or understand why the cost is so high( duel fuel £157) was £107 before they put it up. I know want to leave but because the account is locked and a new bill can't be generated there saying I can't leave!
Any advice would be great!

Hi niktheguru,
If you'd like me to take a look into this and see why the bill hasn't been sent yet, please can you send me your details to forumresponse@npower.com?

Hi Two stone to go*,
That sounds really bizarre and I'm not sure why we would have 'locked' your account.
Could you pop me over your account details to forumresponse@npower.com so I can take a look into this for you and find out what's happened?
Best wishes,
