Yes, that's it - the VM Superhub! I'm requesting an upgrade.:T
So, with your help I should be able to transfer my stuff wirelessly.
It still means I need to have software to transfer my photos to and the camcorder movies. I'm hoping my hubby can still get MS Office 2010 from his workplace.
My firewire was purchased in 2009 (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1142857) and added to my Dell with the help of some folks who no longer seem to post on MSE (shame).:j I hope my comment helps :T0 -
I'm not up to speed with Windows 8, but your photos and camcorder movies will transfer using Easy Transfer. What software do you use now for these files, and do you just want to view them or do you also need to edit them?
Do you still have the MS Office install disk/files and (more importantly) the Product Key?
As for the firewire, would still need to know the make and model numbers of both the card and the new PC to work out whether it will fit and be supported by Windows 8.How do I add a signature?0 -

NO. I bought my old pc direct from Dell and MS Office (2003 I think) was already pre-loaded.:j I hope my comment helps :T0 -
You can view photos/videos using Windows Media Player (included in Windows 8)
You might also like to download Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker

So, if I download these onto my new pc would I then transfer my photos and movies from the Dell to them?
(As you can see I've not quite got my head around file sharing between computers).:j I hope my comment helps :T0 -
You transfer the movies and photos using the aforementioned Windows Easy Transfer.
Download the above software (if desired). When you open the software for the first time it will (should) scan your machine automatically to find the files. How do I add a signature?0 -
