He doesn't get the fact it is a reduction in benefits, yet when people lost CB he didn't seem to want that applied to others. Double standards, but he wants more money off OO not rooms.

I know exactly how bedroom tax is implemented, thanks. I don't remember stating an opinion on the recent CB changes. And yes, if the bedroom tax applies to social housing and private tenants (as some people claim), why shouldn't it apply to owner-occupiers when in the midst of a housing crisis?

This is one of the things wrong with calling it a tax, because a tax is more likely to be applied across the board. However, as this isn't a tax but a reduction in benefits then, by definition, it only applies to people claiming the appropriate benefit.

Home owners can't have their housing benefits reduced because they aren't claiming benefits!

Then you will know 100% why it CAN'T be applied to anyone not receiving HB or SMI. It is a reduction of benefits based on determined needs, when someone doesn't claim benefits you cannot reduce them.

It is not a tax, it's a benefit reduction so you cannot reduce OO that receive no benefits, however, CTB I'd agree with if they receive CTB.

Home owners could still be penalised for spare rooms using the same criteria.

The problem with clowns like Morlock is that their socialist beliefs have been stamped onto their brains. In his world everyone should have exactly the same things as the next person, he truly believes that someone who has gotten off their a4ses and worked hard for years should have the same standard of living as the lazy bas7ards who scrounge all their lives because they know no different. Sure there are loads of people out there who need help for a variety of reasons but why is it a god given right that they should live in the lap of luxury at the expense of the rest of us? Don't care if I get slated for the last remark I'm only saying what everyone else is thinking and is too scared to say.
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.

Home owners don't claim benefits, when did that happen?
If you chose to read the post properly you would see that she was referring to housing benefits, you just see what you want to see in your tunnel visioned world.

Ah I see you have edited your post, too late I already quoted it.

Only if there home is being paid for with benefits. There you have a point.
I do not believe there are benefits that pay the capital costs of home buying.

It is easy to claim that 'everyone else' endorses your opinion and therefore validate your pathetic argument.

No I think that is right. People say "I worked all my life, or I worked for 30 years etc", however, despite mortgages at that time being easy to gain they never chose that option. They chose affordable rents, a landlord that provided home maintenance etc. home owners have had to make sacrifices and will still need to. I've had to replace my boiler this year, cost of 5k, it's not cheap maintaining a home, need to re roof in part within 12 months, wall ties etc.

I do not get the animosity and hatred on here towards home owners perhaps its jealousy, I don't know, but some had that choice to own and decided financially it wasn't for them, as it isn't always the easy option.
