                    Hi
Been looking into buying actual gold nuggets as a tax free investment.
Anyone done this and recommend a seller ?
Cheers

Tax free? Which allowance are you using, as I don't recall any tax free allowance for gold nuggets?I am a Chartered Financial Planner

Don't forget only legal tender british gold coins are exempt from CGT. Such as sovereigns, Britannia coins, gold £2 and £5 etc.0

Having posted the above advice, i have to confess that I bought a Krugerrand. Because its more aesthetically pleasing to me than other gold coins! And as it's one coin I'm unlikely to break the CGT barrier (unless George Osborne truly manages to screw the economy!)0

the Kruggerand was bought as an Xmas present for Mrs Miketaff. I think it was one of those presents that you buy thinking the other half will love it, when really you were buying it with yourself in mind!
unfortunately I left the web-browser open on the website I bought it from and the missus spotted it. When I told her I had a 'special' present for her this year, she replied "it had better be something pretty I can wear and not some crappy coin"
Needless to say, I was out Xmas shopping on Xmas eve for an alternative present!!!!0

I'm just bored googling around and getting a bit confused, i can see it's VAT free, silver is different.
What about selling gold bars and CGT ?
I want a nice coin now as well...lol0

however if the pound was to fail and the government were to recall the pound it would include your gold bullion coin i think. 0 0
