You will have to install a pump, as these type of cylinders(or the type you intend to fabricate) will NOT work on gravity systems.
Also you will have to link it to a time swich/programer, cylinder stat, and install a bypass(good pratice).0 -

I'll take your word for it but I'm surprised because the internal area of 3,4 or 5 runs of 8mm pipe (or whatever they use) must allow at least as much flow as a single 28mm pipe. I haven't sat down and worked it out with maths but that's what I'd expect. So I wonder why it won't allow circulation with gravity alone.

New boiler - I've been quoted £2500 plus Vat for supply and fitting of a replacement boiler-- Glowworm 18sx. Also draining and de sludge old system.
