Selling My Car - Desperate Seller Website

Hi,

I'm in the process of trying to flog my car. I have it listed on Ebay and Exchange and Mart but have also come across https://www.desperateseller.co.uk.

They claim to list your vehicle on 101 websites for a one off payment of £29.99 and will continue listing it until it's sold. Websites they include in the 101 include the Top Gear website and Fish4Cars.

Has anybody used these people before and what did you think?

Personally, I'd try https://www.autotrader.co.uk
Its the most popular car selling site by far. Only thing I wold advise is that you do get a lot of anencies calling you up but the bst advice for that is to just hang up.

Also, make sure your car is priced right in comparison to other similar cars.

I tried AutoTrader and it was bloody useless. It cost a lot (in comparison) and delivered very little.

always beware of anyone advertising services for those in desperation. There are dozens of companies that will offer the same service as this company, all with high one-off fees that will return very little results.

If your ad on autotrader isn't working it could be for a number of reasons - poor pictures, poor description, too honest with the faults, and lastly but most likely, if the others aren't a factor, you are over-valuing the motor! take a good look at comparable models in the same area and see if a buyer would think they are getting value for money by buying yours or making an offer.

You could always try Gumtree which is free too!

Yes, I have considered these issues. I'm looking more for people with experience of using 'Desperate Seller' as a service. As I stated in the OP, the service lists on other sites for you (101) for a one off fee of £29.99. What I really want to know is whether people have used the service and found it ok (or better) or awful.

The ad on autotrader worked very well with lots of interest but the buyers were rather flakey and there were lots of scammers and agencies using the contact details.

The vehicle I want to sell is also quite specialist, so I'm looking for a wider catchment, why is why Desperate Seller seems like a good option - because it lists with 101 websites...but not taking anything for granted.

If anyone has specific experience of this site, would be very pleased to hear from you.

when advertsing on autotrader clearly specify "no canvassers or agencies"

I don't but I promise you, once they have your money, your car won't be listed on the websites.

If your car isn't selling through AutoTrader check other adverts for prices, if it is really specialist try advertising on Pistonheads or the owners club.

Maybe a specialist auction would be a possibility if it is a rare or unusual car?

An educated guess.

I also tried a few of those websites listed, like skypluscars.co.uk and milesontheclock.co.uk and also vehicledatauk.co.uk. Strangely, all of these websites have one thing in common, they are all registered to an address in Luton. I'd guess the majority of the 101 websites are owned by DS and share a database.

What car are you selling? Perhaps you could link to your autotrader advert and we could give you some pointers.
