Consolidating Bank Accounts?

Hi,
I currently have three bank accounts, Halifax, HSBC (student) and Lloyd's (classic) and I wish to close my Halifax and Lloyd's accounts and get a better more feature rich bank account, perhaps a premium bank account of some sort?
Only problem is that with Barclay's I don't fit the requirements for Premier banking, First Direct I cannot find the requirements and I do not wish to use Halifax or Lloyd's ever again so I am stuck as to where I should look, Citibank Plus/Citigold look good... are there any other banks I should look towards?
I will admit that while I have a job it is a part time job (I am a student), it pays virtually nothing so I get an allowance from my parents so if I am hindered because of that, should I just keep the HSBC student account and transfer the money from the other two accounts to that? I have also discovered my credit rating has slipped to just below average due to HSBC screwing my credit card payments up (cancelling DD and then a SO for no reason and not informing me so I had missed payments), would my credit rating affect me getting an account?
Cheers

Why not stick with HSBC then until you meet First Direct criteria? Citibank has pretty poor comments on here about customer service.0 -

A student with a part-time job wants to have a premier account at a bank which most of them require 100k a year.
Another great Sunday post.0 -

It seems you don't actually know what you want from a bank account? Useful reading: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts0 -

In all honesty I dislike HSBC because of the way they have treated me with my credit card so as soon as I finish university I will close my account with them and never go back. Why not stick with HSBC then until you meet First Direct criteria? Really? I thought they were quite good (from Google), that is a shame.
Not all, Citigold does not require it, Barclays want £75k, First Direct I couldn't find the criteria, looking around I could go to Cater Allen so long as I keep a minimum of £5k in their most basic of accounts however I wish to have a feature rich account for various reasons and the Cater Allen account does not look like much.BugsyBrowne wrote: »A student with a part-time job wants to have a premier account at a bank which most of them require 100k a year.

I don't see why being a student with a part-time job should write me off if I get a decent sized allowance from my parents, an allowance that is basically the equivalent of a salary.
Oh yes because investing in shares within Russia is such a bad thing :rolleyes:Wait til you see his other post!0 -

You seem to have a bit of an unfortunate relationship with banks if you have already discarded 3 of them. At that rate, there won't be any left by the time you get to 30.
Not sure what you mean by "feature-rich" - - - what is it you want from a bank account?0 -
Why don't you apply to the bank of Mum And Dad since you live off the allowance they give you.
Perhaps they can give you a premier bank account!!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Why are you so up yourself? I come asking for advice as the forum looks good in general and I get this? do you not have anything better to do with your life than pick on someone asking for friendly advice?BugsyBrowne wrote: »Listen Richard Branson you're on a wind up no one is falling for your bulls*t neither.

As for the private bank account, Cater Allen only really have the £5k minimum in the account per month in order to keep it open, there are no other requirements so it would seem rather easy to get regardless of whether I have a job or not, just need the money which I have. Only downside to the account is all you are getting from it is the fact you are with a private bank that has such low requirements you have to question why?0
