As for the private bank account, Cater Allen only really have the £5k minimum in the account per month in order to keep it open, there are no other requirements so it would seem rather easy to get regardless of whether I have a job or not, just need the money which I have. Only downside to the account is all you are getting from it is the fact you are with a private bank that has such low requirements you have to question why?
Carter Allen are part of the Santander group!!!
Why don't you apply to Coutts & Co if there good enough for HM The Queen, then there good enough for everyone else!!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
It disturbs me that Cater Allen and Santander share the same logo :eek:ElContador wrote: »Cater Allen
I hope that's where the similarity ends, but if not, :eek:0 -
Why would you put £5,000 in to a Cater Allen account that offers no interest on the balance, and no great features to note? Surely it makes more sense to put the money in to an ISA/Savings account and stick with Halifax who will pay you £5 per month?! It makes no sense at all.
What features do you want from a bank account? Then we may be able to help...0 -
This thread is very scrappy: Who called out the dogs and the sheep who follows them?
Let's look at the facts: You have a hole in your credit file, you have virtually no income, dependent on the goodwill of your parents and you want a premium bank account.
What do you mean by premium bank account? You won't have a cat-in-hell's chance of an authorised overdraft so that leaves things which you can get from most bank accounts, DDs, SOs, Debit Card, etc. etc.
Best option: Stay with HSBC
Next best: Get a basic bank account at Santander, Barclays, Yorkshire Bank or loads of others. But never go overdrawn or you'll be f ... er ... I mean ... messed up.0 -
Simple, the name. Showing someone a statement that says "Cater Allen" looks good, or at least it would if people didn't think of Santander when you said it.Why would you put £5,000 in to a Cater Allen account that offers no interest on the balance, and no great features to note?
Like most other banks however, it doesn't really make any sense unless you have >= 100K with them, and I'd never put 100K in a single financial institution.0 -

It'd make sense if it was Coutt's or Barclays Premier... But like you say, Cater Allen just isn't that impressive... It's just Santander...
