BT Infinity Upgrade ( no extra charge )

Hi !
In November 2012, I recieved a Letter from BT, inviting me to upgrade my then current BT Total Broadband Option 3 to BT Infinity. A typical automated Letter !
Quote from the first paragraph - " We are currently upgrading our broadband service in your area to make it faster. You will be upgraded to BT Infinity fibre optic broadband for no extra charge, at a time that suits you. There will be no change to your existing contract term or charges - the amount you pay will remain the same. "
I agreed with the upgrade, but for some reason I am paying more for Broadband now ( around £15 ) ! I would have rather stayed on my previous package and paid less with just a 6-8mb speed !
Have I been misled with this upgrade ?
Many thanks !

Actually, I'd argue that this is a con.No doubt their corporate lawyers have checked it out but I think this is a very misleading letter from BT. My partner practically bit their hand off when we received this letter from BT stating the "no extra charge" to our existing contract and took them up on their offer. I was suspicious as I have found with most companies, especially BT who are not particularly competitive, that there's no such thing as a free lunch. But when I rang to look into another matter they had us down as a £25 a month charge for this service. The no extra charge is only while your existing contract lasts - we received the letter in November - our contract ran out in January. So this "amazing" offer, even if we'd taken up in November would have lasted no more than 2 months. I suspect they only sent this letter to people nearing the end of their contract. Buyer beware!0

Nope. I renewed in Nov on BT BB Unlimited for only £13.25 a month. And it has also been confirmed the discounts will continue too, if I ask at renewal. But you have to ask.
So this offer is genuine.0
