Orange allows calls to 07744 numbers as part of inclusive cross network minutes. T-mobile allows it for now but is going to start charging for calls to 07744 numbers from 01.06.2007. So ,it's not worthwhile taking a contract with T-mobile if you are going to use it mainly to call 07744 numbers. Virgin network allows calls to 07744 numbers as well(as part of inclusive cross network minutes).

Please contact Virgin and ask them. Just because are a virtual operator that uses T-Mobile infrastructure does not mean they will follow them.

This is a very interesting point. I have just called O2 to find out why I wasn't informed about being charged for making calls to 0870 numbers. They told me "Sir, you are on a Q3 tarriff. It is only for people who are on a Q2 tarriff". If you're not sure, call them. I'm sure they'll tell you what tarriff your on.

    BUT THERE'S MORE CONFUSION

If you are on O2 with the Carphone warehouse the 0870 numbers will come out of your minutes.

Basically it is ONLY O2 direct that have removed the 0870 from your phone and even then, only if you are on a Q2 plan.

    I hope this helps you

I too bought my 3rd contract phone within the last 5 years. Later only I found out that they are charging for 08xx numbers and will not be taken out of your free minutes.

I contacted O2 to hear that from 01/05/2007 they will be charging all 08xx. They did not quote any q2 or q3. Cofusing.

I am now just keeping the contract to call land and mobile numbers within UK.

It only affects new contracts from 27/4/2007 ,calls to 0845 from old contracts are still included in inclusive minutes.;)
