No sympathies here.
Your son knew what he was doing - blame him.
You yourself said his card details were there before yours overwrote his. So he knew the costs were going to your card and he took you for a ride.
£700 in two months? £42 in a day? I have twin little brothers his age and they know better.
You aren't getting your money back I'm afraid. Did your son think all those games were free? Even though he had his own card on there before?0 -
Maybe your son has a duty of care towards his parents?
I wasn't even going to open this thread as I expected to read the usual blame Microsoft drivel - no disappointment there
Your son knew he was spending YOUR money and even got invoices to remind him what he was doing.
Sort your son out before it's too late and stop trying to blame others.0 -
report him to the police for fraud, tough love i know but its about the only way you`ll get your money back
and before anyone says anything in different circumstance 10 years ago we reported our son for stealing my cc and spending £300 on it,he got a b0ll0cking from the police we got the £300 back..result0 -

Agreed, particularly as the Xbox system is quite clear when purchasing content as to how much it is going to cost and where the money is going to come from.

Sadly, you also have yourself to blame. Why would you leave a credit card registered? Did you not think to research how to secure the device so that this couldnt happen even if your son was the dishonest little so-and-so he has proved to be.
I have a pet peeve about people who refuse to take responsibility for themselves - let alone a minor.
Sell the xbox and pay the debt. Learn from this experience and do some research in future before handing your son such an expensive toy.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Sorry but I have to agree with the majority, you can't blame Microsoft for your lack of parental supervision.
I have a 12 year old son who has a PS3, it is downstairs in the living room so most of the time we can see what he is doing. He also has a Steam account on the PC.
He knows, without a shadow of doubt, that if he wants anything downloaded on either platform he is to ask my permission first, EVEN IF IT IS A FREE DOWNLOAD.
I also make sure I know what I'm doing regarding leaving CC details on the system and making it secure.0 -
