Can Martin or the team take on the so called big Boys of cruising

Please go off on your holiday and enjoy your cruise.
The small print in the t&cs rarely works in the consumer's favour!
As has been said before never discuss the fares paid because you will always find someone who has booked at last minute and paid less than half- it has happened to me- and boy was I cheesed off!
Did you think you had a good deal when you booked your cruise? Did you choose the cabin you wanted?
If you think you have paid a fair price then to save your sanity just put it all behind you. If in the future you can be flexible, don't mind when you go, where you go, or the type of cabin then wait for the last minute bargains.... the cruise lines don't like to see empty cabins sailing so there will be tremendous deals... but you do have to be flexible.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

"Price promises" are rarely worth the paper they're written on in any context...they're usually just a con trick to get people buying now rather than shopping around or waiting till nearer the time.0

I have a golden rule, once I have booked, I can't see the point in looking to see if its been reduced!
As has been mentioned many times before, you were happy with the price when you bought it, would you complain if the price had gone up?Filiss0 -
I wrote asking for genuine help but it appears not to be found here, so please dont make fun if someone has made a mistake.
My fare was P & O,s Vantage fare with a price promise , NOT a Getaway fare.
And yes I did declare all my serious health issues and had to pay over £300!
The simple lesson you should take from this is if you want good discounts you have to be brave and wait as late as possible to book as this is when the best deals are offered.
When you book early to be safe you are gonna pay through the nose usually.
As you are a pensioner and flexible on times you can go you should be using this to your advantage and taking a few late deal risks.
Have a most excellent trip anyway and just put this down as a lesson learned.:j0 -

?
I think this is a critical part of the research for the future.
I track the prices of cruises I have booked and more that we won't be taking this year so I have a better idea of the ones which will be discounted next year also the discount patterns the lines are using.
Year on Year they tend to do the same as long as the dates don't cross a holiday boundry.0 -

I would normally agree but the OP bought a cruise with a price promise, so was checking to see if they could get it reduced if the cost went down, that makes perfect sense unfortunately the promise didnt apply to the types of fares the OP found0 -

"Can Martin or the team take on the so called big Boys of cruising" - I nearly choked with laughter when I first read this, I guess the OP doesn't get the "other" meaning of their statement. V funny.0

Same as me, once I've booked, I don't look again. I'm happy to book a cruise at a price that suits me, and then look forward to my holiday, secure in the knowledge I've got the cabin that I've specified, and the dining option that suits me.
Perhaps the next time, the OP will chance a late booking, and not be too disappointed when they end up with the cabin above the nightclub and second sitting when they prefer firstEarly retired - 18th December 2014
