How long does bread last that has been made by a breadmaker - I am seriously considering getting one!0

I haven't used mine for ages! When I first got it, used it a few times a week and was deermined not to buy any more bread. The homemade loaves were gorgeous .... BUT .... it was hard to slice properly for sandwiches and the kids stopped eating it .. so I went back to shop bought  Any tips to help convince the kids to eat it? They liked the taste ok, just not the chunkiness of it :rotfl::beer:0

I agree that slicing bread is a pain - so as I love kitchen gadgets, I bought the Argos food slicer - think it's about £30. Am a bit rushed otherwise I'd post a link. Well worth it - perfect slices, as thick or as thin as you like. Can be used to slice other big stuff, like cooked meat joints, ham etc. Don't buy one of those terrible plastic bread slicing guides - they are flimsy and fall apart as you try to slice the bread.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Thanks for that, savingforoz. I've seen those slicers and wondered if they were any good, or if it was another gadget that would end up in the cupboard (next to the panasonic bread maker) :rotfl:
I'll go have a look on the argos site and see what they have. Might be just the thing :beer:0 -
I also bought the food slicer from argos and have been making fresh bread for the last 6 months. It slices it easily and whatever thickness you choose. HTH0

I bought the slicer from argos today :j
Used it to slice a cooked ham, a roasted pork joint and a meatloaf earlier. Brilliant! Highly recommended! I'll make bread tomorrow and have a go at slicing that. Can't see any problems as it was great for slicing those joints. Some of the reviews on the argos site mentioned it was a bit awkward to clean. It is, a bit fiddly but the blade and some other parts come off too, so it's not too bad for cleaning. It's worth the extra few minutes for the ease with which it sliced!
Thanks again for the info on it, savingoz :beer:0 -
I could not get the hang of that slicer thing. Ended up selling it on Ebay. I think breadmaker bread is best for sarnies etc on first day, after that toast, by day 3 it aint too great.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I agree with this.
I use my Panny at least 5 days a week and I've had it for 2 years now. If it packed up I would certainly have another.
