    Was there a collision?

    The OP thinks not:

Maybe there wasn't then, I assumed being on a motorway they would have hit the barrier. The OP's mate needs some driving lessons I think to go into the central reservation from lane one takes some doing.

Thank you for all your replies. There was no collision, thankfully. He came off the motorway far too fast, straight onto a roundabout. We were in inside lane but he couldnt keep his lorry in his lane and ended up in our lane. It sounds so trivial but it was terrifying. All I could see was this huge trailer and wheels bearing into us. I dont know how my friend did what she did but we live to tell the tale.

Also sounds like it wasn't on the motorway but on the island above. A sensible and experienced driver should know that HGV's need to be given a wide berth when they are maneuvering on islands. I've seen enough vehicles and cyclists almost squashed by left turning HGV's.

    Try reading the thread?

It says it happened on a roundabout just off the motorway.

If he suddenly joined with no warning, your friend could probably have slowed down to take the vehicle from along side the lorry.
  • Thank you all for your replies. My friend has been driving for 20+ years hence we didn't get hurt as she knew what to do. The Police have hopefully got cctv and can give him a rap on his knuckles. We were driving very slowly as its a busy area but he was going much faster then he should have been. Yesterday I was very shaken and wobbly, It scared us.
