flight delay compensation

I flew last year with Monarch and 3 of us ended up having a over night delay, I did correspond with Monarch last year and on a e-mail they confirmed it was down to the technical issues and then as the airport closed at night all they could do was offer a flight the next day, they told me to claim on my insurance, I refused and all they offered was £75 of flight vouchers. What do you think my chances are??:j
