Valentines Red Roses - Dead / Crispy on arrival

I ordered some flowers from a reputable online florist (not sure if i'm allowed to name and shame?) to be delivered to my girlfriends workplace on Valentines day.
When they arrived they were completely dead and brown / crispy. If you had flowers in the home and they got to this state, you'd throw them away!
I have complained to them about the quality of the flowers and asked for a full refund and compensation.
Two questions...
1 - Am i right to ask for compensation for ruining her Valentines day present? On the grounds that this is a once a year event and the state of these flowers caused her upset / embarrassment in front of her coleagues & clients?
2 - If the refund is refused, is there a way to get my money back. (I paid by Visa debit card)

Hi wizzle,
Name and shame, if anything its useful for others to know so they don't have the same issue!
Have another look on the website, most compamies give a "fresh" guarantee type thing on their flowers, see what it says. If they weren't fresh when delivered and the website said they would I'm pretty sure they should be giving you a refund. I may be wrong but thats what I would think. Good luckSaving money like a trouper...0 -
It was Serenata Flowers. They were the first website that came up when searching Bramhall flowers.
For some reason they turned up in a box from Middlesex.
I'd also avoid the card service they offer.
The card turned up with a tiny printed label on with my message. That looked like an infant had stuck it on. It was completely misaligned and peeling off. The text was almost diagonal down the card.0 -
Do take time marked photos of all this wont you.0

I've got a set of photos taken immediately after receiving the flowers.
The email sent to Sereneta with the photos attached is evidence they were taken on the day of receipt.0 -
I ordered from them last Mother's Day. Recipient received what was basically a twig in a pot.0

Can you upload the photos?0

This seems to be all too common nowadays.
Is there anywhere that can be trusted to deliver decent flowers?0 -
